Keep in mind, sports fans, Ed Scott's coming back, but as SENIOR producer, not as an EP.  There's only so much he'll be able to do on the creative front, but if he can somehow improve the show visually and aesthetically, then I'll take that as a win.

Visually, it's been improving bit by bit. Online clips aren't as muted as they've been for the past five years, and that rich colour is [slowly] returning.

Cautiously optimistic here. He must have been reasonably happy and well paid at B&B to stay so long, so this doesn't feel like he wanted to leave or they're shifting people around so they can be on a different budget (cough Steve Kent cough). It seems to indicate a desire to improve production, which is desperately needed with BTG coming. BTG could get eyeballs who haven't watched CBS Daytime in many years to check in, and the current state of Y&R is an embarrassment.

This definitely feels like an acknowledgment that something is amiss at Y&R, but a bit timid. We shall see what follows.

That title does feel like just an entry point for more though. Maybe.

Finally a step in a POSITIVE direction with the leadership of this show, even if it’s just Scott stepping in the role of Senior Producer at least that’s a start.

What is Noel Maxam up to these days? He should have been Y&R’s EP for years now IMO ugh instead of over at days.

I don’t know who to add for writing this show anymore. My previous choices of a duo between Esser and Boyd but of course Esser retired and Boyd left on his own accord after seeing the writing on the wall.

Guys, B&B is proof that you can have talented people on your producing team, but the show will continue to be crap as long as a creatively inept mind like Brad Bell is in charge of the creative output.

Im actually happy about this but cautious too! Hopefully his input and knowledge of the show isn't going to be constantly swept under the rug….

Its wishful thinking to add if he can somehow lure Kay Alden out of retirement too…

For now. ;)

My guess is Scott will be the lead producer running things in the studio day to day and overseeing the various departments and finances.

Griffith and Kent aren’t technical producers and aren’t in the studio every day to manage production.
