There was something special about Stephanie Williams as Amy. I don't think she ever really fit in on OLTL (not helped by the complete lack of interest the show had in her) but she clicked on Y&R. I'm sorry if the show sees her work as so irrelevant. If she declined to return, they should have left the role retired.

It’s disturbing.

 I  remember some people were asking for a recast Olivia. So why not her? I mean, it would be odd to see someone other than Tonya but at least Olivia’s son is on the canvas so there would be some connection. It feels like they want to bring on another character from one of the show’s golden years just to ruin her. When I first saw the headline, I was dubious but thought I would see what it was about, maybe tune to see how Williams is doing. Now I’m sure I won’t watch.

Bizarre. Amy was a lovely presence on the show but largely due to SW and the relationships with the characters at the time (who are no longer around). She is NOT a major character with current ties that would explain a recast. If SW were to return, it would justify the randomness as a nostalgic piece of the show's history being brought back. Otherwise....

Im happy the character is back, but once again this is a situation where it’s gonna be treated like she’s a new character. It doesn’t help they can’t do flashbacks, but will they even acknowledge her past relationships with the characters she did interact with back then? Lauren and Traci are the only two that come to mind ( and on canvas) but will they even clue Nate in that she was the women his father dated before his mother came into the picture?? 
 

She could have been Olivia, I do agree with that.

Still this is really strange casting news. I would’ve wished for an Olivia recast.

But weren't they casting a role that would be comparable to Nate? A slightly older brother would fit... Otherwise, why bring her to town?

And to all who said it, Olivia makes way more sense.

I'll take Pettiford in any role daytime or primetime gives her ❤️

Yep.

Bizarre news. Olivia is right there ripe for a recast yet JG always goes for the most “unexpected” play that yields confusion more than excitement. Not that he’d do any better with Olivia, but at least her son and a few of her contemporaries are still around.

I also remember Amy and Diane had interaction and who knows if that will be acknowledged….basically anyone who was in Paul/Andys orbit back then is who Amy should interact with.
