I thought it was a very unusual day especially for a Wednesday. It was not Wednesday like, at all. I am so concerned about Molly. She is so very terribly alone.

Triss today & their angst was truly outstanding! Joss was completely right about every single thing she said. They had one of their classic arguments. They have them a couple of times a year. They're very good at it! They say what they are thinking & feeling but they are careful not to use words that would hurt, or sting. The ALWAYS leave it open for them to make up. Trina has  done this before. She is good at walking very fine lines. Today with Ava. In the past with Esme. She also is quick to say that she is not stupid that she KNOWS Ava has done terrible things. I think we're watching Trina have a possible change of mind about her dear friend Ava. But, Trina has integrity. She will put Ava on some sort of restriction first before she would ever speak against her, behind her back. That's just Trina.

Hmm? To me it was only predictable.

I am constantly amazed at how they have destroyed the character of Jagger Cates!

Molly saw the affidavit?! Whoa, I did not see that.

His line, just amazing dialog!

"You deserve to die. My face should be the last thing you see. But I'm not here to take your life. I'm here to save it.": - Sonny to Ava, GH 8-21-24

My rose today was "Triss" & them being such good friends & that they say anything & everything to each other.

My thorn was John Jagger Gingleheimer Schmidt who has gone so completely overboard that there's no redemption in sight!

Yes, of course.

Ehhh… today was good but the blatantly biased writing was on full display in a lot of scenes and it gets really annoying sometimes. #PoorJagger

Btw, somebody really needed to punch Joss in her trashy whore face today. And yeah, Ava’s been a better friend to Trina than she ever was.

Ha! I will never agree with #PoorJagger unless we are talking about 1994's Jagger who was ruined by AH lol.

I did laugh when Joss was threatening Ava like she would have thrown her out the window.  Girl, Ava would have easily snapped you stupid neck.

I thought today's show was really good.  Kristina is being so selfish and I love Molly knows the truth now.  I thought Tajh Bellow was very good today and I know he gets a lot of hate here.

Oh for sure.  I will mostly think of ASJ's Jagger who was super hot, kinda dopey, but mostly a decent guy.  There was no reason to bring Jagger back in the first place.

Jagger's motivations were all off from the start.  Hate Sonny because he's a criminal.  Bringing Karen and Stone into this was mostly a moot point.  Sonny was very good to Stone.  He was awful to Karen, but Karen forgave Sonny and moved on with her life.  Jagger cheating on her was probably a lot more hurtful lol.   It's weird to take an FBI agent with real issues about Sonny and have Jagger make it about petty, personal things-and then make him crooked.

@detroitpiston  I agree! Today’s episode was excellent - one of the best of the year.  There was tension everywhere.  From Joss/Trina, Jason/Anna/Sonny, Jason/Anna, Kristina/Molly, Davis Girls/Jagger, Sonny/Ava.   Then we had those emotional scenes with The Ashfords. I had tears in my eyes when  was TJ telling them the name of his daughter and when Stella had to leave and started to bawl in the hallway.  And we had two good cliffhangers with Molly finding the custody papers and Sonny telling that he will save her life instead of killing her.   Loving the show right now.  It’s so good.

He was excellent. That's why I spoke up for him recently when I saw those negative posts about him here. Those comments made no sense to me.

Yeah, the show clearly has given up on the Jagger character and did that 180 on Jagger's way out the door.

As many of us complained about, he was Jagger in name only with a cheat sheet of references to placate the older viewers and give him insta-ties with the current show. Didn’t they do this with Paul Hornsby too a few years ago? They were brought on to be trashed if need be.

Molly is killing it and is now officially my favorite Davis kid. Mansi is not playing any sympathetic quality to Kristina’s current story. Do they want the audience to truly hate this character? I think we are supposed to at least sympathize with her a little bit. And instead it’s hard to argue that her impulsive actions did lead to the consequences everyone is facing right now. Ava certainly has a part to play in that too, as does Sonny and even Dex. All these choices lead Kristina to that window.

Nicely said. I've said all along that there is more than enough blame to go around. Very soapy, also layered, complex.

I think with FV/EK/CVE making the decisions Frank wants made, they're going to just keep pushing Kristina further & further out on the edge & may go as far as Krazy Krissy. I also suspect that they expect a certain amount of sympathy because they're trashing her whole life.

It's such a weird idea because old viewers are thinking this is nothing like the Jagger we knew.  And new viewers are like this guy is awful.  Not excusing the Paul story because that was wild too, but Jagger's ties to the canvas were flimsy at best.  Besides Sonny, he really only knew pre-brain damaged Jason and Scott.  His other ties were more ties to ties of previous characters if that makes sense lol.

I do wonder if the show is assuming viewers will sympathize with Kristina either because she's Kristina or because Kate Mansi was popular at DAYS. They have created a situation where a lot of fans hate her.

It's certainly one of the best things to happen to Molly (although she will likely go under the bus soon enough), and they seem to be writing to the strengths of the new actress.

The bit where she found the papers while Alexis was swearing protection to Kristina was a great soap moment. Nice to know they can do them.

I assume the show is leaning into the narrative that Kristina is a flighty mess.  I don't think we are supposed to sympathize with her in this moment.  I think at some point she's going to realize she is being ridiculous and it will inspire some actual change within her.

I also think the show knows Mansi can handle the material (even though she's not great with online hate) and KV needs a little boost as Molly to get the audience in her favor.  Just my opinion of course.

    • Whoa. She should have fought like hell to get that. Was it the greatest show ever? No, but it had a fantastic cast and was practically guaranteed to last multiple seasons because of its star power. Could have certainly led to bigger and better things. If it had flopped she could have always gone back to soaps. Judith Light broke through on a sitcom where she was basically second banana to Tony Danza. That grew into a very busy and distinguished career. The woman is still regularly booked to this day.
    • I could understand her being frustrated by the fact that she'd been in the business 10+ years at that point, and probably couldn't even get in the door. But then again, she'd already gone out for pilot season once (that we know of) and she and  her agent knew a 35-ish woman had a very difficult time in Hollywood. I know she did a few guest spots, but other than Designing Women, nothing I saw--not even a Murder She Wrote, and that show had tons of ex-soapers on it. I mean, God bless Marilu Henner, but even having been on Taxi, she couldn't get arrested for years either.
    • I didn't rewatch that period, so I'm not really sure how much Bill is on. I recall something about him living at the boardinghouse. I think Van made Matt his guardian, and why she didn't name Josh would be a mystery to me, other than the HW decided they needed to keep Bill in Matt's sphere. Nola is also his aunt, although they don't know each other well, and Van wouldn't have trusted her anyway. There's Dinah---but she's unreliable. Billy gets out of jail around NYE.

    • That's on Kimmer. As someone posted above...she was offered roles in pilots but she would be part of an ensemble or supporting. She didn't want that so she came back to GL. I don't know what she thought would happen..someone offering her "Here's Kimmer!" or The "Zimmer Comedy Powerhouse Hour" variety show..but her housefrau fans did not have the same pull in HW as they did on the soaps. Forbes and Watros knew that you had to take small parts to get noticed ands start a career in primetime. I know she was in consideration for the wife in Evening Shade, but when you go up against Marilou Henner, the soap diva looses. I could see her frustrated in a role like that, where she has to be the understanding wife with a bit of sass, but she could have made it work, if it wasnt for her huge ego.  I think it would have been an issue haveing all the powerhouse comedy actors surrounding...(lets face it..Alice Ghostly woudl have wiped the floor with her...) but it would have been a good launching padd.
    • Oh good, so I don't have to wait too long haha. I'm glad she cares about seeing Bill graduate. I'm guessing I'm in for a bumpy ride between Bill and Matt, if he's going to be his caretaker? Who else could it be, maybe Josh?

    • Maeve makes a few sporadic appearances, but returns full-time the next spring/summer. She's back in time to see Bill and Michelle graduate, although she skulks around town and wasn't going to tell anyone she was alive. She comes back wearing this HUGE hat---which was a throwback to the old Vanesaa. lol.
    • Aww, yeah it's very heartbreaking and I mostly enjoyed the Nola/Vanessa scenes because they finally let their walls down and came together in a beautiful moment. So Nola was at the hospital already and bumped into Vanessa, who had MRI papers that fell out of her hand and Nola went down to pick them up and asked her what was going on. Later, Vanessa confided in her about her disease. Then, Nola told Zachary on the beach (he prodded her and already alluded to knowing something was going on with Van), and then Vanessa found out she told him and got a little upset. Now, however, Nola is strangely absent while everyone is mourning her death. I'm curious if Nola will actually tell people about her MRI results. I would assume so. Only Nola, Rick, Roger and Zachary know anything, although there is the MRI results letter from the mail that everyone has missed seeing at home. I'm sure it'll all come out at some point. But... I just saw the next episode and the opening already cut Vanessa out and added Dahlia and Zachary. I guess Maeve is gone for a long time

That will break my heart seeing the town continue to mourn her and assume she's dead. I can't wait to see her return though, and I have to imagine feelings will be torn between loving that she's alive and being very angry she did all of this. While I hate what Vanessa is doing, I'm happy to hear it's not totally against her character. I think you're right, had Henry still been around, she wouldn't put him through this. I'm still surprised she is with Bill, though. I get her feelings on Matt, because she wants him to move on, but still very heartbreaking. I'm glad this was Maeve's choice to have a break vs. being fired.    Interesting, so I'm curious to see who they eventually pair Phillip with. They're flirting with a Phillip/Annie pairing, but I'm not sure if they'll go that route with the Jeva drama, her growing pill addiction, and Rick's past with her.  Ugh, yeah I'm so sad to see Bridget do a total 180 in the last couple weeks. She has always been a strong character from what I've seen, but now she's just bending over backwards to get Hart to love her and it reeks of desperation. Yeah, sure, this new Hart is eye candy, but I'm already tired of seeing Hart/Dinah have sex all over Springfield and the Cayman Islands haha.
    • Yes.  I remember them together during the early summer of 1986.  They didn't share scenes again for 30 years until 2017 because Carrie wasn't on the show when Anna returned during Sydney's kidnapping.
