It just boggles my mind how the son of a character who's birth sparked decades worth of drama between its two central characters (Kay & Jill) is getting not only shot offscreen but doesn't drive any story really.

Chance has been made useless on this show much like Noah. Two characters that are totally wasted and should be driving most of the story.

It was exactly three years ago in November 2020 and it was worse than the show is now; endless scenes of Abby begging Elena to save Chance’s life while dear Uncle Billy was shown jumping across the rooftops of GC searching for the real assailant as it was the final part of that ridiculous Kansas retcon about the dead gangster.

Chance really does need more to do. I can’t believe a charismatic hunk like Connor Floyd isn’t used more…..wait this is JG’s Y&R so I can believe it.

You know what's funny? I completely forgot there was another Chance before Conner. I see Donny Boaz in clips sometimes and I'm like "oh he was on this show once."

that Adam story. Remember how he was trying to build a bomb to kill his entire family and kidnapped Chelsea and left her in this dirty room because she found out about said bomb?

I get the importance of veterans, but the show is called the YOUNG and the Restless. Stress on young. The primary premise of the show was to focus on young adults. And I am sorry but a lot of the vets need to be put out the pasture with the repetitive stories they keep getting. No one cares to see Nick pouting about having to work one second, fighting the next second over a woman, and bedding a woman the next. We're over Snoozetoria whining over daddy's company. We're over Victor trying to control these middle aged adults. We're over poor Sharon pining for a man when she's not pouring coffee. Or Phyllis starting to foam at the mouth now over a man (Danny) that NEVER loved her. Lee and Bill must be spinning in their graves over how these people have ruined their shows (Yes, I am talking about you and the trash you've made B&B, Brad).

    • "Aunt Blanche" first appears toward the end of this episode, about 57 minutes in.

    • You're probably right. They may have just wanted edits of certain characters. Hopefully the rest is around.
    • Of course!

I'm wondering if there were bits cut from this footage, because to me it seems that may be the case. At 11:23, Laurie tells her psychiatrist that the bar phoned and told her Mark got into a fight and needs to be picked up. It starts to fade to the next scene, you hear some different music begin and get cut off between the static, and where you'd expect to see the aftermath of the fight, we cut back to a later scene of Laurie in bed worrying about what's happening. The credits at the end also show that more than Mark, Laurie and Dr. Northcote should have been in this episode. Another character, Brody, played by Ed Setrakian, is mentioned but not shown. If this is the case, perhaps the original fan who saved this episode has the additional scenes.
    • Anyway… It’s a shame that the video that depicted Leticia’s death was removed from YT.

    • Ms. Phelps holds a BFA in directing from Carnegie Mellon University, awarded in 1972. At a time when women were underrepresented in directing programs, she was one of the few women in her graduating class. To suggest that she possessed no further talents than completely changing the style of music used on soaps seems like a vast underestimate when one reads her online biography through an objective lens. I guess that I should be more clever than to constantly blame misogyny for these misguided interpretations of her management style.  But, I'll never comprehend why fans unquestionably align their opinions even years after fact. Post-modernism, and the ability to reinterpret context through the study of history, seems to elude this conversation.

    • This is 100% correct.  It was even on the nightly news where the US Government would not let the cast and crew travel to Egypt because it was deemed not safe.  The Achille Lauro hijacking took place on October 7, 1985, when the Italian ocean liner MS Achille Lauro was hijacked by four men representing the Palestine Liberation Front off the coast of Egypt, as she was sailing from Alexandria to Ashdod, Israel. The location shoot was probably scheduled to be filmed in mid-October to air throughout November with a two week tape to air date.  Remember on the show they did some in studio scenes doubling for Egypt before shifting the action to Arizona.  It was an awkward end to a truly bizarre storyline.

New episode from late 1973 or early 1974!
    • Coronation Street had a very good story where one of the characters befriended a man who she later learned had been involved in her husband's death - when told right it can be very powerful (not like AMC trying to make it a romance). ATWT almost had a big fire in mid-1994, so this seemed to be a "thing" with P&G at the time. I guess it fits the disaster backstage atmosphere.
