April 11, 200620 yr Member MALIBU, Calif. - Child welfare officials and a sheriff's deputy visited the home ofBritney Spears but declined to say Tuesday whether they were investigating the pop princess. ADVERTISEMENT Spears and her husband, Kevin Federline, are the parents of an infant son, Sean Preston. The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services and the Lost Hills sheriff's station declined to give details of Saturday afternoon's visit. "It's a very standard, routine patrol request," Lt. Debra Glaskides said Tuesday. "We just roll out with them. We stood by, we took no action, no report or anything." The Sheriff's Department said it was a DCFS matter and couldn't release any information. Glaskides said there may not even be a DCFS investigation, noting it may have been only a welfare check. Phone and e-mail messages left for Spears' New York publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, weren't immediately returned. In February, DCFS visited Spears' home after publication of photographs showing the 24-year-old singer driving with then 4-month-old Sean Preston in her lap, rather than in a car seat as required by law. Spears later apologized, saying she did it because of a "horrifying, frightful encounter with the paparazzi." DCFS director Louise Grasmehr didn't return a phone message left Tuesday at her Los Angeles office. The department routinely refuses to discuss cases, citing confidentiality laws. Ha ha ha ha ha
April 11, 200620 yr Author Member I'm sorry, but this is funny. How is it that this incident happened in April, yet they are JUST getting around to investigating? If this was any "normal" person they would have been to their house like the next day.
April 12, 200620 yr Member Ryan is right though. Seriously, how long ago did this happen and theyre just visiting now? I doubt they'd take the kid away though.
April 12, 200620 yr Member I don't think Britney is that bad of a paret. As for Kevin, well that's another story. The poor baby.
April 12, 200620 yr Member I read in an LJ community that there was another incident with the baby. What happened was that Sean fell out of the high chair and fractured his skull.
April 12, 200620 yr Member I bet if Britney would've just stayed with Justin none of this bad publicity would ever happen. Those two are meant for each other, IMHO. Who knows, maybe one day they'll find out they are soulmates and rekindle the long lost love....haha. I think I've been watching too many soap operas. lol
April 12, 200620 yr Author Member I don't want to comment on her personal life but......her life's been a mess since she and JT broke up. Yet on the other hand, JT's having the most success that he's ever had.

Yet on the other hand, JT's having the most success that he's ever had. Really?? Wow I must be missing something. I mean I know he just did that movie where he's like a thug and now he's in Shrek 3 but having the most success he's ever had?? Comes as a bit of a shock, but good for JT. I think he's been staying under the radar for quite a while. He must enjoy that the paparazzi is not hounding him like they do other celebs.
April 12, 200620 yr Member Justin was a loser who used her to get more popular, all he had going for him was that stupid N,Sync band. Only after he used their break-up for that stupid song did he actually launch a solo career. Now I'm no fan of Federline, but when you see pictures of them together, her face lights up when she looks at him. I think she really does love him. And there's nothing to show that they're bad parents at all. I don't know why the media just always focuses on them. Guess because they're always stereotyped as trash.
April 12, 200620 yr Member And there's nothing to show that they're bad parents at all. Well, when a 4-month old baby falls out of a high-chair on his head, and the parents wait six days and say, "Oh [!@#$%^&*], maybe something IS wrong with our baby," I'm not sure if I would call that good parenting. http://www.canada.com/topics/entertainment...bcfda9b&k=21101
April 12, 200620 yr Author Member Success isn't always professional Dan. He's engaged, he's happy. He's had major solo success, he's working on movies and working on a new album. He seems like he's in a good place.

They didn't neglect him or purposely harm in any way. No way does that excuse their behavior, but their not terrible parents in my book. And Star is one of the biggest tabloids out there. I'd hardly rely on them.
April 12, 200620 yr Member It's odd that CPS is investigating this incident SO LONG after it happened. Didn't know about the high chair/cracked skull incident. It's an accident, and kids usually have dozens of those growing up ranging from a tiny scrape on one knee to a broken arm.
