Why the hell is Hope SMILING at Liam during Beth's birthday party??? Has she lost her mind, is she on drugs, or is she just an idiot???

And why is RJ lecturing and preaching reconciliation to Hope and Liam??? Shouldn't he be hitting on some fine young ladies in town, or even checking out other guys' pecs and arms at the rooftop gym?

I'm reading through the threads and everything sounds ridiculous.  But - that's an honest SORAS really.  She was born at the beginning of 2019.  She'd be 4 and a half in real years.  Given divorces, remarriages, annulments, and re-re marriages happen in 1 week on this show, that's about the most believable thing I've heard in the past few years.

So at the beginning of the show, I was like....maybe we're finally getting a Liam-free episode for once. But, NOPE, there he is! Smirking and being tiresome.

Poor RJ. He's got a rocking bod. Should be having a fun youth focused story, but all he gets to do is play marriage counselor.

Did Zende fall off the face of the earth?

I wondered what people's feelings are - how do you set up a poll? Is that possible on here?  Never done it.

Vote for who Finn will sleep with first, while Steffy is gone (if she's leaving - I read she is leaving for maternity leave):

A. Hope

B. Taylor

C. Brooke

D. Katie - probably will need Emmy reel material, so a tryst with Finn will allow them to get it on, get it over with, and give Katie some well-deserved crying time

E. Paris or Bridget (I think these are the two underdog / long shot choices, but tempted to put them on the list, just in case the writers wanted to toss someone else a bone).

RJ is starting to give me Aly vibes when she began to go off the deep end, wearing long Amish dresses and preaching about Hope's virtues...

In the world of B&B, the George Floyd era is over, so Zende and Paris are yesterday's news. Carter will eventually be just a wedding officiant again... I'll be glad if I'm wrong, but we've seen this sort of scenario play out on B&B....

Meanwhile, didn't Rena Sofer leave the show a full year ago and she's still in the opening credits?

The RJ obsession with saving Hope and Liam's marriage might could have worked if the writing has been more nuanced such as RJ coming from the point of view on how Ridge and Brooke's many marriages and divorces impacted him as a child. But, instead he's preoccupation with fixing everyone's marriage just feels odd.

    • Oh, I see! You posted this on the general retro soap thread because of the voiceover.
    • Yeah, I agree. It's part of the reason I have shade picked on Martin's Secret being so on the backburner that it was about to fall off of it. With Dani/Bill/Hayley being the main tale to start us off and backburned and the SilkPress storyline being well paced, but not set to explode until May, Martin's Secret was the other main storyline that could have been developed. And after giving it a nice slow burn to start off, the story upped and vanished in Month 2. That left the show having to rely on mostly B/C stories to stay afloat to various degrees of success.
    • I loved those scenes, lol. I thought I was watching a stage play. But I do hear what you're saying.
    • Jason47's episode summaries clarify everything. https://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/days-daily-summaries-1990-1999-t14806-s150.html The construction company is "AJ Construction" (AJ = Adrienne+Justin).   Jencon Oil was building an oil refinery at the construction site.  This was adjacent to the park. Kirk Geiger played the character Chad Webster. The character Chad was an actor in the movie being made.   The child friend with Shawn-Douglas is his cousin Andrew Donovan. A few episodes prior, Andrew and Shawn-Douglas were at the park playing hide-and-seek. They wandered off where they shouldn't have gone, by slipping through the gate onto the construction site.  Shawn-D fell into the hole at the oil refinery. There were several episodes of trying to rescue Shawn-D.  Finally Carly rescued Shawn-D, but he was discovered to be deaf.  Andrew felt bad, but Bo and Shane both understood that it was an accident.  Carly later taught Shawn-D sign language. Shawn-D was played by Scott Groff. Andrew was played by Bradley Michael Pierce. pics here: https://web.archive.org/web/20070404163013/http://www.childrenofsalem.com/days/kids/shawnandrew/shawnandrew.html Larger context here: https://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.htmlhttps://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.html
    • I had a situation last week where I could watch the new episode on Paramount Plus on my laptop, but it wasn't even listed on my TV as an option.

    • I'm trying to think whether AW had anything remotely resembling that once Steve was killed off and Alice left a widow. So many young love stories were wrapped up either by marrying and leaving town or marrying and killing off one party. Maybe they acted in the final year as if Vicky and Jake had been that couple all along, but they both had better other mates along the way and also Jake was actively hostile to Vicky at too many points without any subtext of caring about her.
