EXCLUSIVE: Emotions have been running high on the set of the long-running soap Days of Our Lives.

According to multiple sources, there has been shock, disbelief, disappointment and anger among cast and crew following the outcome of an internal investigation into misconduct allegations against longtime Days of Our Lives director/co-executive producer Albert Alarr.

Wow.

Next up: Ken Corday blackballs Deadline from getting PR releases. (This is a joke)

That was horrible to read. I feel so bad for everyone on that set.

I've read that intimacy coordinators are now commonplace in productions. Shouldn't the unions step in to provide protections like these for soap operas?

The environment on the DAYS set sounds horrible. Ken will definitely have to take the reigns, who knows, bring back Greg Meng or even Gary Tomlin.

Anyone up for a game of clue? Some of these allegations are so specific it's hard not to point out who was allegedly targeted.

An insider pointed to the significant number of women who have left the show over the past couple of years including actresses who played major characters. Men also have been publicly bullied on set, with at least one male cast member departing abruptly after Alarr screamed at him in front of cast and crew. According to a source close to the situation, the verbal attack happened after the actor had gotten a hair trim, which he apologized for even though he wasn’t on contract at the time, meaning he was not obligated to maintain his appearance, and his character had not been on the show recently.

“Albert has a habit of belittling people, especially people he wants to put down,” the source said.

Which male non-contract actor (likely contract afterward) got a haircut even though their character hadn't been seen for a while and could cause such a stir?

Two DoOL sources shared strikingly similar accounts of witnessing Alarr give directions to a male actor filming a love scene in front of his female acting partner and the crew by saying, “You’re f*cking horny, man, you just want to f*ck her.”

Not sure how that was even a stage direction. Not even if the man was gay would that be necessary to say to someone.

There also have been allegations of physical contact, including groping, against Alarr, whose directing instructions have incorporated the touching of actresses that is no longer considered appropriate, multiple witnesses told Deadline.

The investigation also examined an incident from 5-6 years ago. In it, Alarr allegedly, without warning, forcefully grabbed and kissed a DoOL actress without her consent at an event after the show had won an award, leaving her horrified, according to an eyewitness. The psychological and emotional impact of Alarr’s actions that night were long-lasting for the actress, who was terrified to be left alone with Alarr, a person close to the situation said.

How neither of these alleged incidents resulted in his immediate firing in the age of MeToo (at that time), we'll never know. Ultimately, how he remains on the job after this news broke today, I will also not understand.

Just now, dragonflies said:

Does SONY even care? They seem like they give no F*cks about much IMO

I'd be surprised if this doesn't get to become a class-action lawsuit at some point.

Ironically, while Anthony Morina was being sued for his alleged misconduct at Y&R...all this was allegedly going on at DAYS. Can we say soap within a soap, within a soap?

I thought it was SONY that caused the investigation to happen.

The love scene anecdote reminds me of one Steve Fletcher told about Rauch coming in on those at OLTL in the '80s, inserting himself into the scene.

Is @Khan still around? He used to enjoy these guessing games.

Didn't Sony just let Morina quit Y&R quietly many, many, many months after the initial public allegations?

I'm shocked that they, I don't know, just get rid of Alarr? Surely, his contract can't be that airtight?

On the other hand, I'm not sure how many people would want to work with DAYS's ever decreasing budget, but really, wouldn't it be better to take a chance of an unknown at this point? Hell, in general an issue with daytime is that the same people just cycle through the shows again and again and again...

Again, I'm an extremely lapsed viewer but my first thought was Wally Kurth.

I feel a little icky speculating on such upsetting situations for the victims, but I'm pretty sure (based on a lot of context clues) that the actress in the love scene is Martha Madison. She wiped Days from her socials a few months back and seemed to be going off-contract, and it didn't seem to make any sense.
