Today was such an improvement over the rest of the week. You can tell a lot of effort was put into todays episode. And the cliffhanger was amazing. Ron and co. can definitely put as much effort into a lot of other episodes, but clearly they choose not to. I’ll never understand why.

I’m so glad that we got follow up with Tripp, though I wish the scene with Johnny and Wendy would have continued. But I enjoyed his scenes with Stephanie. I liked her encouraging him to see what could happen with Wendy and they have really good sibling chemistry. And no Tripp, you making a move on Wendy is nothing like what Alex did to Stephanie. You are a better man than he’ll ever be

Speaking of Alex, he was quite dumb today. Dumber than usual. But at the same time, I was interested by what he tried to do. Yeah I didn’t see it coming. And yeah, despite Maggie being written out of character, I’m still on her team and I always will be.

I also enjoyed the Shawn/Andrew/Megan scenes. Hopefully, Shawn picks something up from the gaffe that she made. And it was good to see cousins Shawn and Andrew interact. Welcome back to Salem, Andrew!

As for Greece, Hope and Harris have chemistry. It was obvious today. I might even feel bad for him when Hope goes back to Bo And he looked really good too. It was nice to see him in something other than a black t-shirt. His shirt looked like something I would wear.

Today made me really excited for next week, even though some spoilers have me shaking my head already

I hate to nitpick (who am I kidding?  I love to nitpick), but how could they agree to house Megan, a federal prisoner, at Statesville, which is titularly a state facility?

But, I guess we know why Shawn stays with Belle because every other woman (Jan, Megan, Mimi) is obsessed with him, and she's the only one who doesn't treat him like a piece of meat.

I approve of interweaving the power struggle at Titan with the prisms, very clever.

It is always so soapy to me when two characters like Stephanie and Tripp stop their conversation about a crisis to go off on a tangent about their love lives (e.g. "Mom's been kidnapped by our Uncle, but I just found myself in this love triangle, even though we haven't been on our first date yet."  "Yeah, I know I'm also in a love triangle and now I might need to manipulate the man I don't love which will destroy the relationship with the man I do love...").

That being said, I also approve of using a silly plot to advance romantic stories. it is very old school, the super couple saves the planet.

Finally, I hope Thomas is wearing a mask so that when they pull it off we'll see Stacey Haiduk with that iconic facial hair and comb-over hairdo.

Is Peacock not available in the U.K. yet? I read somewhere they were via Sky and its streaming service Now at some time this year. Otherwise, I would recommend a good VPN for downloading torrents with a bittorrent client like Deluge or utorrent. Currently, you can visit the DAYS torrents at bt4g

It's kind of weird though. This uploader chooses to use the day of the week and date instead of season and episode number. But, hey! It's free and video resolution is 1920x1080p. Then again, if you don't have many seeders, it defeats the purpose.

    • I was wondering what week it was, and it explains the low rating for Knots Landing.
    • Interesting take on Dallas. Frankly I think the plot of JR Returns should have been the way Dallas ended but for whatever reason they thought they had the chance to get renewed for another season lol. A week later Knots’ 2 hour season finale ranked at #10 against Cheers #3 and LA Law at #5. There’s only a handful of other shows running that long and still doing well enough the ratings/rankings i.e. Gunsmoke, Law & Order, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy and more recently Blue Bloods.    Another point of interest is the unraveling of the 80’s sitcoms had already begun in the spring of ‘91. The first part of a Who’s The Boss? two part season finale we see here ranked at  #40 and second part ranked at #43 the following week. Growing Pains finale the previous week barely made it into the Top 30. The Wonder Years fared no better. Cosby losing ground, Night Court and Dear John just being there etc.

I haven't posted in a few weeks and have some catching up to do. But I did manage to look at the last two episodes after hearing about how good they were. I really enjoyed them. My thoughts on them: The affair/secret child reveal was very good. TMG was really good as Leslie, her whole confrontation with Ted/revealing all to the Duprees was very entertaining. I continue to love AM/Eva. She my top two favorites on the show (along with Nicole). I have a lot of sympathy for Eva and how she was conflicted/ultimately felt guilty about publicly revealing the truth to everyone. I wonder what will happen to her next, especially if she does go and live with the Doctor that is friends with Ted and Nicole. I lol'ed at how Martin/Smitty jumped up and grabbed Leslie when Eva was calling her crazy. The way they did that was funny to me. I haven't liked many of Martin's actions/his attitude especially regarding Smitty/his children, but I think it was interesting how he wanted to check Ted for his actions. And also wanted Bill to be questioned/confronted about his as well. I haven't been the biggest fan of the character of Andre, but I appreciated his calm and measured approach after the reveal and how he talked with Eva. I thought it was interesting that he knew about the affair and convinced Ted not to tell Nicole. Speaking of Nicole, I continue to love her character and view her as the heart of this show/Dupree family. I am interested in seeing where her journey goes as a character after this reveal. I'm looking forward to her leaning on Dani and (also Anita/Vernon, etc...) for a change.

    • Lol.  I love that this board still allows misinformation from a bad source.
    • Thanks @kalbir what a time to have enjoyed the peak of the primetime soaps. Haha you’re good. The only complaint I have with Lorraine’s death as I mentioned recently in the FC thread was it was overkill, and all we got Apollonia. If a pregnant woman had to be killed off, I would’ve chosen just killing off Robin instead in some freak accident or in the explosion at Richard’s to save us from us that disaster lol.    Did Hotel have a cliffhanger that year? I imagine if Hotel had been soapier we would’ve had cliffhangers like the hotel catching on fire or bombed by an ex-lover of Christine. Peter pisses everyone off and is shot in his office. Or a major Golden age star like a Olivia de Havilland shows and tells how she originally owned the Hotel and how Victoria Cabot & Laura Trent stole it from her but now she owns it etc.
    • The whole AMC 2.0 pulled it together in mere weeks to get a show up and running, with scripts and a cast.

Ginger Smith seemed really passionate about being in the executive producer position, and I think she really did a fantastic job in six weeks. It was just well done.
    • I totally didn’t pick up on that. Just perfect! I don’t get the Maurice Johnson hate around here at all. He didn’t take me out of the scenes at all. I understood everything he was portraying. It was great. I do wonder if there will be a personality shift with the new actor, whom I’m still not excited about. Exactly. Right? I’m in the exact same boat as you. Agree with most of this except I never found anything off with Ted, didn’t suspect a thing. I just watched yesterday’s episode and it was one of the best soap episodes I’ve seen in a very long time. I was enthralled the entire time. Just fantastic.
