Sounds right.  I thought it was 81 or 82, but I am not a Sam expert so I was just pulling dates out of air in my head lol.    I just remember it was ridiculous considering her con woman backstory of being married several times and coming to town at 22 or 23 lol.  But I guess that makes her almost 43 so I guess she is close to mid 40's I guess.

Am I the only one that thinks they (Frank) decided to take this Nikolas story this far because he needed someone (Ava/Maura) to prop up Roger’s character that was clearly not working out?  So we have to get rid of Nikolas to move her towards Austin?

Yes, but I also think it is interesting that they haven't tried to pair Austin and Carly, given the past chemistry of RH and LW.  I guess the failed Franco and Carly relationship spoiled the possibility of re-pairing the two actors.  However, I feel like Drew is a non-starter and lacks any of the moral ambiguity that has always attracted Carly.

I think whatever went down with MC was untenable so they had to write him out. The fact that that dovetailed with once again trying to put Roger over with a popular actress was just an unexpected boon for Frank.

The audience would revolt if they tried that a third time.

The answer is and always has been to put her back with Sean Kanan's A.J. That was the answer when he first came back, as well as when Howarth was taken from them the first time, they put them together for a few weeks to fill space and the sex scenes were scorching hot.

But Frank has killed off A.J. (again) and alienated Kanan so it won't happen any time soon.

I'm confused by why Esme is going to prison/the mental hospital if Heather confessed to being the Hook.  Was she tried and convicted for her scheme against Trina (or Ava)?  Because it feels like she was kept on Spoon Island rather than being convicted of a crime.  And now she's been exonerated.  So, she why isn't she free?

Because she drugged Trina, secretly recorded Cameron & Josslyn having sex, released the video to the entire PCU campus and drugged Oz Haggerty which put him in the hospital.  But you do have a valid point. She has not been tried and convicted of any of it.

Agreed about all the Austin and his cousin crap.

As glad as I am that Nikolas was saved, this storyline’s been dead from the very beginning, long before they brought Ava into it. Please end it now.

I completely forgot about the SEC crap too

    • Thanks. I'm glad we have some fan memories of these years as this is such a typically snide take on the genre. It's also poorly written and reminds me a great deal of the tedious "snark" recaps that became popular in the '90s. The end in particular. The 1979/80 stuff I have seen is much more polished than a number of soaps at the time. It was very easy to watch and not too bogged down in past story.  Margo is played by Ann Williams, who was on what seemed like every soap. I think she said Margo was her favorite role.
    • And the rating 'wars' continue...hehe.
    • Well, it was fun while it lasted for Rebecca Herbst. Le sigh.
    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
    • Which officially started to feel that way today with them hearing each other out as they confronted each other at the same time.    Same. He was even catching himself when he was about to go overboard or do those tics that people don't seem to like. He failed a bit at the end, but he carried. It makes me think about a month back when it was discussed that the actor was better in other things he's been in. And I questioned then if that meant that he was playing Martin more intentionally. I questioned that briefly again today because he was giving.
    • I really like the actress who plays Margo. Don't know  her name. I'm so hesitant to google anyone because I don't want to know the length they were on the show. I've watched two episodes and I have to say that the show does not feel as dated as other shows. I tried to watch Ryan's Hope a few weeks back and some of the acting was a bit rough. EON is a lot more natural which amuses me considering it's a mystery/thriller show.
    • She’s INCREDIBLE. I’m so glad you enjoyed this my friend.
