I was on and off with my viewing of the show at that time, so I wasn’t sure if it was just me, or was the storytelling truly that disjointed? Hearing your thoughts tells me it wasn’t just me, it really was that disjointed!

The one redeeming quality was the chance it gave to Tonya Lee Williams to show her acting chops, an all too rare opportunity for her. Like I said, it really buried Nathan and the character never made his way back.

I JUST GOT OUT OF A KNOTS AND DYNASTY DEEP DIVE!

Lots of Aborted Affairs, Dynasty Had Aborted Affairs Between Blake and Alexis, Tracy, Lady Ashley, AND Krystle With Nick and Mark and Daniel. They Also Aborted The Amanda/Clay/Sammy Ho Triangle

On Knots Apparently After Realizing Gary was already too much of A manwhore They Aborted Any possibilities of him and Anne and Pat Williams

In regards to Nathan and Keesha I wondered why they didn't let it play out onscreen.

Why the hell would John marry Jill again especially since she'd slept with Jack twice, one of which cost him 25% of Jabot. Even worse, the marriage barely lasted a year. Jill has not had a  long term romantic lead to my recollection since that second divorce. John really hadn't learned his lesson about these kinds of women when he married Gloria much later on, not to mention Dina.

LOL and I Remember he was once Interested in JoAnna Manning, Lauren's Mom, another No Good Lady, Dina Was His Weakness Every Decade she reappeared and He Would Briefly fall back in love with Her, Bill Bell always seemed to want to find a way for them to get back together but would never really go there, The Nearest of A Reconciliation they could get was after John Divorced Jill, But Dina Left At That Same Time! I Wonder if he Felt that Once Dina Became The Abbott Matriarch, Mamie Would Have To Go! Also What A Sin Dina Didn't Come For John's Funeral, I would love a Good barbs exchanged between Gloria and her

And What Can Be Said on Nikki And Victor's Last Free For All??? Wasn't it Weird Of Them to renew They're vows to have an Open Marriage?

The bell soaps aren't really good at keeping couples together long term. Yes it's a soap and there's rifts and cheating, but I like couples like Margo & Tom or Alan and Monica where you see them work through their issues over time.

BEST: already mentioned but GH: Monica and Rick Webber (1979). Such history leading up to this, and to see Alan and Monica at their most toxic and intense was great television.

close second: Alan and Susan Moore / Monica & Phelippe, not to mention the  Susan Moore murder mystery.

Rewatching scenes from Alan and Lucy's marriage has me realizing two things: (a) even though Alan and Monica weren't physical, they acted a lot like a guy and his mistress; had Lucy not slept with Scott, she would near-totally be justified in demanding Alan respect their marriage vows and (b) the dynamic between Scott and Lucy is awfully reminiscent of Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd on Moonlighting (which was already a year off the air, but my point stands; lots of trolling the prissy girl).

    • Melissa Ordway announced she was moved to recurring back in November but is still credited with the contract cast members.
    • I think of Evan as a smarmy bast*rd. Maybe you'll like that description. You certainly have him pegged correctly since he is just a soldier following "Admiral" Iris's marching orders.
    • So far the only interest I've seen from Evan to Amanda has been listening to Iris's orders to go and seduce her.  So far he hasn't been successful... but who knows. Amanda is unbearable at times. Entitled, spoiled... idiotic. Iris... so blatantly manipulating her and Amanda takes the bait. But I guess... when she gets in trouble... she'll have a chance to learn. That's what makes these shows so interesting.    Oh, no, don't worry. You haven't ruined a thing. Evan has not been on my radar that much... he was not one of the characters I was caring particularly... so nothing much has been changed for me. I don't think he has the stuff to ruin Rachel's life. He's just a pretty guy that can follow orders. Iris on the other hand... is dangerous.

P.S Maybe Evan will surprise me. Who knows.
    • The show has gone back to 10/10 entertainment! I'm glad that I was right in feeling that what were experiencing were growing pains. I'm sure they are not over yet, but I'll know that we always comeback to quality drama. I think it's going to be a hell of ride (in a good way) from this moment on. BTG has that magic that not a lot of shows have. I'll update more... when I'm done catching up.
    • So very glad to hear this. Yesterday I suddenly thought; OMG, what about spoilers, have I just  ruined things for Maxim in getting carried away with interest in Evan, who was so well-written & well-acted. BTW, your fan review of this episode was a sight for eyes that had not seen one of these for a little bit too long, LOL!!!  Mitch is also fascinating to me but in his case it's because he was all in with Janice & her nefarious plan & then he did this turnabout we've mentioned & he basically got off scot-free.
    • It does seem cheap and lazy for this show to have just one family. Passions was heavily criticized but it was nicely structured with a total of four families.
    • I think it was definitely a surprising reveal in the storyline. I had a hard time appreciating Evan because I couldn't get behind his interest in Amanda. But that's because I never thought Sandra Ferguson made her a compelling character (although to give her credit she occasionally had decent emotional scenes with Mac or Rachel).
    • I'll even go further... I'll make her re-think BeLief and create a new patent. Brooke needs stuff to do. Anything other than beg or be in her panties. We need her to be creative. But sadly Bradley has a very low opinion of these characters. To him Brooke is nothing more than sex and scandal... or a pathetic doormat. Ridge is nothing more than a chauvinist pig that needs to pit women against each other to feel like A MAN and Steffy is nothing more than her father's guard-dog. I don't even want to open my mouth about Hope. She is such a fiasco in my opinion... I will not suffer if they kill her off. Bradley pooped on her character and now it's too late to fix it. Annika is great and I would hate to see her go, but slutty Hope was not her thing. The vibe was missing.
    • I've seen Jason interact with Mitch and annoy him. That's as far as I recall. I didn't even have a slight idea that Evan had a vendetta against Rachel... That came as a surprise to me. I thought Evan was Iris's dog and that's it. Now he's definitely more interesting.
    • Thanks for these. I can't recall -- did Evan's vendetta have any position on Mitch, or was it all about Rachel? @Maxim have you seen any Frames intreracting with Mitch in any way?
