Ava is such a flop but I still think TB is one of soaps’ best actors, so this sucks if true!  I’d honestly be fine with them trying her as Taylor again—back during the big 2011 “Reboot,” I totally disagreed with them ditching her… her Taylor becoming a CarlyLite was terrible, but she was a blank slate character that could’ve gone anywhere.  It would’ve been better than Sarah Brown running a global corporation above Horton Town Square.

Anyway, I read a spoiler that Kristen is shocked by Rolf’s new experiment… I’m afraid we’re getting Stefan’s “essence” implanted into Jake’s not totally dead body. Lord omg!  Lol!  I’ll be thrilled to keep BB, but if this is the case—how stupid!!!

Also, I’ll be shocked if Molly Burnett returns.  She’s been successful in primetime.

Yeah I saw that!  I just figured it would be short term if she came back.   You know Days.  MB could have filmed something months ago and won't even air for a few more months.   Honestly, with Stephanie coming back as well she basically would fill the same sort of role with Phillip anyhow.

So I think Melanie started really annoying and ended really problematic, but there was a sweet spot in the middle of her run that I thought was really successful… I thought the Philip/Melanie/Nathan/Stephanie quad was fire!  It was formulaic and unoriginal, but I so rooted for Nathan & Melanie and Phil & Steph were perfect spoilers (I was dying for them to scheme together to keep Mate apart and eventually get back together themselves)… it was very Sami/Austin/Carrie/Lucas-esque.  But right when the story climaxed once Steph was exposed for switching Parker’s paternity results, we lost JKJ, SH, and MH!  It was the biggest letdown, and Corday obviously really interfered during the last leg of Dena 2.0 in 2011 because everything on the show changed overnight in early ‘11.

But then Melanie languished with Dario and then Chad (she also got moved down like a generation) until TomSell came and centered SO much story around her in MB’s final month, which was crazy.  And we can’t forget the showeating terror of her retconned family with Maggie and Daniel.  And then her very limited 2015 return was wasted on Brady & Theresa/Kristen.  So even though I think MB is lovely (she was great on Queen of the South!), I have Melanie whiplash lol.

    • The way this show handled Nikolas' shooting Hayden, Austin's murder, the long slow delay to getting rid of Cyrus, etc. we're likely to have it revealed in a year when Nina is 3 weeks away from leaving and has had minimal airtime.
    • Interesting. I love my Roku.  No, I don't know. Who? I mean Disney def does. I would think a number of parties have stocks.
    • Is he still spamming demands that they hire the campy chick from The Haves and Have Nots? Or whichever show it was. I don't think it's an either/or. I happen to think Dana, Dani, Eva, Nicole, Kat, etc. are all great. Certain folks aren't going to be some posters' favorites and that's fair enough. But I would argue most of those characters above (and several others) have caught on with a lot of the online audience. I've even warmed up to Martin!
    • We get it, you don't like this show or the actors. You've said that over and over again, Mr. Vanguard America/VDARE.
    • Lol at the WSB hot guy asking Joss if she was okay with betraying her friends.  Of course she is! Chase coming in hot at Dante was a choice. It's also quite hypocritical since Chase is lying to him about Dante's own child and making Lulu the bad guy.  Talk to the grown woman yourself Chase.  Don't make Dante do it. Lulu and Laura had some great scenes. The Rocco/Danny party is obvious an anvil for something happening and probably the Gio secret coming out. The Willow/Drew/Nina scenes were kind of anti-climatic?  I get why Nina chose this path as the way to get rid of Drew, but will anyone ever find out Drew was sleeping with Nina?
    • I was reading the NYT article on Roku's purchase of FrndlyTV. As anyone who has read my posting knows, I think re-airing old soaps is an imprudent idea. However, I will admit that if large media companies are looking for more streaming content.  And, if advances in AI continue to make the digitization process faster and cheaper.  Those of you who want the owners of the IP to release anything in their vaults may have reason to be hopeful.  Because the makers of TV's want to get into streaming in order to encourage young people to get back in the habit of updating their TV devices every few years.  And, Roku's plan is market exclusive content, that you have to buy a Roku device to view.  And you-know-who has a ton of content to sell.
    • This was  the messiest hour of television I’ve seen since Kenya Moore asked “who is this hoe?”
    • details of the current Health Secretary RFK Jr's insane beliefs - Doesn't believe that germs cause illness; suggests HIV doesn't cause AIDS; suggests antidepressants are behind mass shootings; believes that vaccines are harmful; suggests chemicals in water are changing children's gender identities... and is quick to promote supplements to prevent and treat diseases, such as recently recommending vitamin A for measles and falsely claiming children who die from the viral infection are malnourished. https://arstechnica.com/health/2025/04/rfk-jr-s-anti-vaccine-stance-is-rooted-in-a-disbelief-in-germ-theory/

I missed the reference at the time, but those DAYS writers really like jokey character names.
