I saw some fans on Twitter who were upset Newman isn't playing Sharon's father. He's certainly old enough in soap years, but I don't know how it would work onscreen.

I think RN is a good looking man, even as a daddy, and we shall see how it works out chemistry-wise but I think the age gap is definitely going to visually be a lot more jarring than it has been with Burgi.

I think on a better-written GH I was hoping Newman would be available to take on Jeff Webber, a character they were actually seriously hinting at finally bringing back a month or two ago instead of just idly mentioning his name which makes too many fans cream their jeans. Who knows if they've dropped it again. But this is Y&R, so knowing them he'll be free again soon enough.

If I were Morina or Griffith, I'd hire Wayne Northrop (ex-Roman/Alex, DAYS) to play Sharon's long-lost dad.  I could see someone like him being married once to Karen Hensel's Doris.

Maybe I'm nuts -- okay, I'm nuts -- but I think William R. Moses (ex-Cole, FALCON CREST; ex-Keith, MELROSE PLACE) would be a good Jeff Webber recast.

I guarantee that RN/AH will not work.  It would make more sense to pair him with Eileen Davidson or even Melody Thomas Scott than it would to pair him with AH.

I am so, so tired of Y&R going back to the Billy/Victoria well.  I mean, how many times must they replay that scenario before they realize it's a creative dead-end?

I haven't watched Y&R in a while, but this will definitely make me tune in.  I miss Robert Newman and always said he's one of the best looking men on Daytime.  Back when my sisters and friends were losing their shite over how hot Tony Geary and the men on GH were....and then Todd/Roger Howarth on OLTL....(both YUCK to me but) I couldn't believe people did NOT notice Robert Newman or he never came up as one of the nicest/hottest looking men in Daytime.   Back then I was like...y'all can have those guys, I'm watching Guiding Light.  LOL
