In a weird turn of events. Robert Newman (ex-Josh Lewis) from Guiding Light is the new Ashland Locke on The Young and The Restless. He is taking over from Richard Burgi who has announced he left the role a few days ago.

Trying to picture them as a couple, stranger things have happened, I guess. Good for him securing a paycheck. 

Maybe the CBS soaps have decided that they've scooped up enough ABC daytime soap actors and are now digging in the P&G crates?

Shame about Burgi leaving (and something about Y&R scrambling says to me that it was Burgi's decision to leave), but Robert Newman has bags of screen presence too. I'm actually surprised he hasn't landed more soaps since GL ended, because he's good.

I was thinking it was a Michelle Stafford/ Gina Tognoni thing. Maybe Robert was available or somthing so they switched. Because his wife said it was the shows choice.
