Nothing about the conception, birth, or existence of Dominic has been good.  It's all been offensive crap around the LGBTQ characters and characters of color ... being of service to rich white clueless entitled Abby, who was upset that she did not conceive after trying for only a few weeks.

And then Tessa/Mariah considering adoption which would be wonderful, if it wasn't due to Mariah feeling an empty womb. And then the pings agains Tessa's status. Tessa has stated many times that she is gay. She's not bi.  She got together with Noah only as a scam to get money for her sister. She never loved Noah. Yet now they have Noah making eyes at Tessa every day.

Devon is made to be the bad guy in the whole sperm donor, womb rental fiasco.

Modern families in real life do have sperm donors and gestational surrogates and shared godparents, etc.  But Y&R took the potential for a good story and made as offensive as possible.

I could say more, but this whole UNENDING storyline makes me angry, and I need to stop thinking about it.

I think they're on to something with the birthday celebration.

One episode each week could be devoted to a character's birthday. Friends and family could tell them how great they are and they could make a heart rending speech. Bam! 37 minutes of airtime filled.

Jamey Giddens always wanted to be a writer on daytime.  He recently wrote his own nighttime soap Ambitions which was awesome but lasted only one season.  Now he's a breakdown writer on Days and says he gets to write one show per week. He seems genuinely thrilled to be doing something he loves.

There have to be others out there who love the soap genre and WANT to write.

Sort of off topic, but I don’t know if your familiar of B&B Superfan  Matt Hanvey that usually posts those hilarious dubbed B&B scenes, but he’s someone who would really excel as head writer for that show.

In fairness, Jamey's already gotten a show on OWN. He doesn't need daytime to continue to thrive.

When an entire calendar year passes with no enjoyment of a single episode, it's another sign things are bad. We're 14 1/2 months away from the 50th anniversary and I'm still hoping we'll get something big to lead up to it.

It was so funny when Nick asked how they got tickets that were expensive and hard to get. Nick is literally a billionaire.

When Tessa said she was going to play retro music I was kind of hoping it would be that Hootie & The Blowfish song that always played during Nick and Sharon scenes at Crimson Lights.

Re: Dominic’s paternity.

Why do I foresee this mess coming to a conclusion with Chance & Abby agreeing to joint custody with Devon and asking Devon & Amanda to move in with them. Then for months on end afterward wacky hijinks not seen since the days of I Love Lucy, I Married Joan and My Little Margie occur for the quad.

Could see that happening. That way they could rid themselves of Devon's penthouse set and save more $$$$.

And cos the Chancellor estate is so huge, Moses can move in as well, and he and Faith can have their 2 eps a month there as well!

Now that Micheal has had his moment in the spotlight, how long before we see him again?

More likely, they'll have a desperate Devon kidnap the child, make everyone think he's dead, and then wind up escorted out of town and into the nearest prison while Chance and Abby are reunited with their precious baby.

So on Monday, family and friends gather at Society to honor as Michael reflects on the past and thinks about the future as Victor offers him a job.

Then on Tuesday, family and friends gather at Crimson Lights to honor Nick as Noah ponders two job offers.

And dear friend Phyllis couldn't be bothered attending either event-probably because she wouldn't be the center of attention...oh, wait...she'd make herself the center of attention.

Coming up on Wed. Family and friends gather at the Gangrenous Pineapple to honor Phyllis, just because she hasn't been on for two days.

    • GET THAT HEFFA, NOSY NURSE!!!   I'm sorry to see Smitty and June coming to a middle ground. It seem like that tension would be between them for at least one more story arc. A writing change?   I'm sorry but I love the teen unit of Ty, Samantha, and Jessica (and Rocco, Danny, Charlotte over on GH which is what today is reminding me of). I'm a sucker for soap teens. lol.
    • I really hope Laura doesn’t get reelected. She doesn’t deserve it. Imagine her campaign staff, freaking out at the Metro Court as election results come in while she’s hanging out with Sonny.
    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? Is it just me or did they never even say the name of this soap opera? Days wasn't new in 1973 and there was no "Jack" with three daughters on The Young and the Restless. What soap are they talking about? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
