Yep.  Cathy Breton.  And IMO, she comes across as being even more lame than Jessica.  If that's even possible, lol.

I suppose then-HW Hogan Sheffer wanted Nick to have solid, established ties to the Salem community; hence, making him the son (and sole offspring?) of a couple who hadn't been seen, heard from or even mentioned in decades.  But, you know, I think it would have been better just to say he was Eugene and Calliope's kid and Marlena's godson.

It is pretty tragic that this Cathy girl was so lame they scrapped her and Jessica was the 'better' version.  I don't think I have ever seen anything with Cathy except for those recaps so I can't judge.

Nick would have been perfect as Eugene and Calliope's kid now that you say that.  I have no problem with Nick's Horton connection, but it was flimsy at best with characters that weren't that important.  Are Josh and Jessica still together?  I can't remember if the show clarified.

Well, he WOULD have been perfect as Eugene and Calliope's kid, had he remained the goofy nerd that he was at the start.

I guess I'm surprised that Greenlee lasted so long. She was introduced as the spoiler of an unpopular romance (Scott/Becca) and wound up staying.

Well from what I have seen over the years on you tube and what not, Jessica was super lame in general.  And Alex and Marie was such an odd pairing knowing what we knew about them.  Weird drug and sex parties?  Lol.  I think Josh/Jessica were popular, but he looked to be heading toward a pairing with Marlena before Wayne was hired and then Josh ended up with a young, immature, and annoying Jessica?  Too bad for him.  Alex was much better when he was bad, but I feel like in a lot of ways he was usurped by Victor, who was a similar villian but with better ties on the canvas in the end.

Alex was great from around late 83 to 85 or so, especially when he was written almost totally as a bumbling, comical con man. By the time he unceremoniously left in 87, they'd written all of the charm out the character. For my money, Quinn Redeker was one of the best actors on the show during his seven year run.

I don't recall Alex having anything to do with Marie or the Hortons at that time. Once Jessica left, that connection seems to have been forgotten.

Alex never scored an ornament on the Horton tree?

Alex and Marie didn’t interacted much between 83 to 85.. But they still met at Shenanigans or at Doug’s/Blondies. She even visited him here and there.

the only little story was Alex/Marie and Howie.. But that didn’t go anywhere and was just for comic relief and Alex was shifted into the Anna DiMera Storys and him owning the Salem Inn

!!! I kinda agree. I mean after Josh/Leo left the show they struggle to make her work. I honestly didn’t think she would be back after the 2005 exit.

Thinking of one more; I always was shocked how long Kevin Collin's father Victor Collins lasted on Port Charles. I don't even know what happened to the character.

Ava on GH. Just watched her scenes today with Victor and wondered how is she still around. I'm sure the main reason is because it's Maura and she can be amazing. Does Ava really have a purpose right now though?

Yeah kinda.. I mean she is a Jerome and until like 2019/20 she had her daughter Kiki still around and her brother Julian.

she has a child with Sonny (Avery if I recall that correctly)

and she has MOB Connections etc. I don’t know but her character seemed well placed

I don't either. I liked Victor. Nicholas Pryor was great in the role.
