Yep. I know Sharon’s character is permanently trashed and long damaged but it’s still pretty damning that she would still pine for Adam despite all she would lose in the process.

BTW what’s up with the Tiny CBS eye btw?

Griffith has gone out of his way to unravel all the work SS put into redeeming Sharon. She was confident, strong and had the ability to help other characters. Now she can't even keep her hair groomed (The static in the air has the back of her head everywhere.)  TPTB need to do something. I don't even watch Days anymore and Y&R is the fourth place show IMO. From the sets to the awful, awkward distancing (which I don't see on GH-- even in scenes with Dingo) the whole visual of the show is just so subpar.

Y&R always had stunning sets, proper lighting, extras at the coffeehouse, offices instead of tables at Phallus's Grand Penis and Abby's restaurant. Quite frankly, pretty soon Victoria's house will look like one of those "tiny houses" from ?HGTV?.

Hopefully the character of Sharon leaves Adam's orbit. Sally and Adam have just enough "spark" to shelve the necessity Griffith feels for the two.

The most unfortunate thing is both the Ashland & Victoria and Adam & Sally are pairings have spark so of course TIIC think both have to be decimated.

Chelsea can stay gone lol. MCE just doesn’t work at all as the weepy tragic heroine. It’s pathetic of what a caricature Chelsea is.

All of this! Sharon’s become pathetic, the show looks like crap, and is also written like crap. Just crappy all around.

She should have left with Hartley’s Adam and both characters lived happily ever after traveling the world or something like that. But Pratt always liked a good explosion and for God knows what reason but Pratt, Sussman, and Young all thought coma inducing  “Chick” was the next biggest thing.

I think any pairing with her and Nick was always a placeholder for both parties. I don't think most regimes are invested in it or were, but I do think Griffith and several others are loath to relinquish the ABC stars and the dream of the mediocre clone of ABCD which they want the show to be dating back almost a decade now.

I miss extras

I miss the Chancellor Mansion looking like a mansion.

I miss Jabot offices and people in the hall-- and employees actually discussing business.

I want to see Jack in a relationship with someone that isn't a caricature. Lauren or Nina come to mind off the top of my head.  The closeness between Jack and Lauren would be great to explore.

One day was not long enough to have Traci around. Get this woman a scene partner and a foster child to adopt. Go**ammit after all the character has endured over the years, it's about time she got a decent leading man. It could be a c-story, but she deserves a child to care for after they killed Colleen instead of just writing off Sursok.

Stop dilly dallying and cast Chance. The whole "Pregnancy" has been a clusterfuck and everyone knows it.

Chelsea is another of Griffith's brain trust ideas to bring 2013 back. No one was clamoring for her return either.

Ashland is the first story Heinle has had in all these years that I could get behind. An equal, not a child playing reporter--how refreshing.  I like that Nate and Elena are being mixed into their story as well.

What's that word kids use nowadays? D**kmatized?

I personally don't mind Jack still deep down pining for Phyllis. It makes sense. Now, if he was a real person and a friend of mine I'd tell him to run away from this toxic person and relationship, partially because of what you said, but in the world of soaps much worse has been forgiven and forgotten.
There would be no way for me to pine for someone who cheated on me with Nick twice abd slept with my brother but hey Genoa City is a weird reality.

What would actually make this work for me more - both the weird flirtation with Sally and this declaration - was if they actually wrote a real deep storyline about Jack's loneliness. He is in his, hum, 60s. Forever a bachelor. His family is all over the world. Etc. It would be interesting to see a man who spent so much of his life chasing after a lot of things - pleasure in his youth, his father role model later on - reckon with the fact he hasn't really achieved much and is afraid to die on his own.
You know, psychological drama with characters layers.

As if they would.

    • It seems obvious based on the initial material that Korte was going to take another foolish run at Jason and Carly a la 2021 and hoped Mulcahey being back would make it work, as he wrote such famous material for Steve, Sarah, etc. I think a couple good dialogue scenes came out of them together very early on, but there was never any denying that Steve and Laura have never had and will never have any romantic chemistry, plus the audience doesn't want it. So they pivoted to her with that useless dayplayer (Brennan) and now here they all are, spinning their wheels doing nothing of value on the show. I do think PM had planned to do much more with Jason's sons and that rivalry/friction, but once he was gone so was Jake. I've rarely seen any of the core mob 3 feel so totally extraneous and directionless on the canvas. Not that I mind. Anything that makes Jason easier to get rid of works for me.
    • I just edited the 1998 SOD Awards & Laura Wright won Best New Character for Cassie on GL. Also Philip & Harley won something of some name for them as a couple & when they finished saying their effusive thanks at the mic, Grant picked Beth up & literally threw her over his shoulder & walked backstage that way. I mean, it's great that Beth Ehlers is a good sport, right?

    • nothing. The story was put on the backburner while they focused on other stuff. I think thats one of the issues i have with the show in that it sometimes struggles with balance as stories will disappear for weeks and then reappear (Chelsea's throuple for example)
    • I HATED Infinity (I could care less about Kyle Sampson and his hanger ons and the dumb Lujack video, and Mindy and Kurt were strong armed into being a fave couple and married off way too soon (Jeva didnt get that big of a wedding.) I did like the Fishing Mystery (despite the changing of history..it was murky enough that it could be fudged) and the Cabin mystery started out good ..I thought Tony was hot and I liked Annabelle, it had supernatural elements but they did not overtake the story (i.e. Reva traveling through time..) and I love a gothic mystery.. however, it was bizarre that nosy Nola wasnt in the mix...she barely seemed interested that her sister in law was psychic, there may be ghosts in her brothers house, etc.  I don't know if there was a behind the scenes issue with Brown and Kobe, or if Long just wanst interested or felt tied up writing for Quola.  I would have had Quint blow up in the cabin instead of Hillary but..The big problem that the end result was...boring. Okay so there are black Spauldings..and they disappeared...so what now? Not only was J gross...(I can't believe the actor IS actually just as obnoxious as J) they made Chelle into an airhead horn dog going after her cousin. Yes, by adoption but still her cousin. I wondered why she was not calling Nola "Aunt" when she first arrived, and they barely acknowledge each other ( I would think Nola would glomb on to mothering her sister's daughter, especially with Stacy not in town, much to Ed's chagrin) but it was in service to...this??? Wait until Chele gets all horny for an angel...oyyyy! No one else in town reacted to Nadine's death,, cause Deas had to have his big dumb over the top reaction scene to Deenie's death. I can't imaging watching that scnene and thinking he was a good actor!

I know, I'm getting the sense they expected Beaty to stay if they were going the rehabilitation route with Abby. A few weeks ago, when Michelle was dressing sexy for her date with J, she let Abby try on a dress and Rick then taught her what dating was like, and she went in and kissed him. They were clearly setting up the Abby/Rick story, but then suddenly it has pivoted to Rick falling back in love with Annie and trying to convince her not to go to Josh since he and Reva are secretly meeting at the cabin (Annie is getting unhinged here). But with Rick focused on Annie again, it would have left room for Abby to work with Brent, had Beaty stayed (at least this is what I'm assuming based on what I'm seeing). Rick is also now in Blake's orbit - they both just got in a bar fight post-Ross/Amanda kissing and Annie rejecting Rick's advances. They're together and Blake is now coming onto Rick while they drink... uh oh.
    • She is truly in such a delusional state that it's hard to know what's true but I'm sure there are some easter eggs in there. I am very curious to see how they utilize Leslie now that everybody knows who she is. If they do go with a connection to Anita in someway that would definitely be interesting. Anita was the first and only person so far that Leslie seemed intimidated by.
    • I do get your point about the Q's stuff with Lois back in the day.  I will say there were a lot more Quartermaines and a lot more stupid, corrupted plotting in the 90's.  I think the show went out of their way to make Lois seem almost naive, unprepared for such an insane family The whole idea that Lois had to move far away from Ned and PC to raise Brook Lynn was a bit flimsy for me as well.  I mean, no judgement, but BLQ still got knocked up as a teenager lol.  I appreciated Lois was also hard on Sonny back then.  Lois could clearly see his flaws even if she loved him. Yeah, Sonny, Carly and Jason don't really deserve human connections with anyone but themselves lol.  I always have wondered if the show did want to re-pair Jason/Sam and whatever happened with Kelly happened.
