I wanted so much for them to delve into Sasha's background with having a mother who suffered from mental instability. I wishful cast her as Telma Hopkins, Jackee Harry or Robin Givens for the role. However, I can't tell you the last time they've mentioned Sasha.

Last time I remember seeing Sasha was at Zende & Nicole’s wedding and making peace with Nicole. Sasha gave off vibes to me possibly  a young Brooke first going after Zende and then Thomas briefly and Stephanie’s portrait rolling its eyes when Sasha talked that her portrait would be up there one day too.

The last big Avant story was pretty gross and offensive; a sadistic Julius became transphobic again and plotted with a reluctant Nicole to take back/steal Lizzie away from Rick & Maya.

What a random return. Why Julius? There aren't even any family members of his on-screen (that I can think of).

I don't remember the Sasha actress to be particularly good. Reign Edwards on the other hands was a true gift to the show and deserved so much more than she ever got.

I do agree with the sentiments I read on here (or elsewhere, not sure) that Zoe should've been Sasha coming back. But I guess the story with Wayne Brady couldn't have been played out that way (at least not as Sasha's bio dad). Actually Xander could've been a recast Zende as well and the characters would've tied into B&B's recent history much better. But I guess that doesn't really matter as Xander got wiped out pretty quickly and Zende is actually back now.

Looking back, as little story as they had, the Avants were actually great additions to the cast (+ Zende) that should've been used way more.

    • Poor Philip. I appreciate how seriously his and Xander’s scenes were taken though. It felt like real drama and not like a big joke. You could actually feel Xander’s pain and anger. It adds another dynamic to the Kiriakis family storylines and I’m looking forward to the effects that this is going to have across the canvas. I can see them weaving Kate and Roman into this storyline as well. And it would be really nice if this somehow helped cause conflict for Stephanie/Alex too, especially because of what Alex did today. With any luck, Stephanie will be furious about it.  And I’m glad that Sarah has Maggie to confide in about her secret. I also liked seeing Steve and Shawn (and their matching jackets

) continue to be on the case. Kevin, revealing everything to them is another interesting turn in this storyline. Plus, it seems the writing has improved for Shawn as well.
    • TBF, I don't think we've seen her interact enough with the "have-nots" to know if she is or isn't. It's possible, but I don't think you can say that from her interactions with Eva and Silkpress.
    • You're right - though I did confuse his name with an actual actor who was on Dynasty.

    • "Might" is not "is". And I was talking about the specific case about her attitude to Eva.
    • But she can still be a priveliged elitist. She might have the same attitude to anyone from 'the wrong side of the tracks' whether they had an agenda or not. Nicole seems to be an outlier in her family. Her parents, kids and sister seem to think themselves above reproach.
    • Damian's clothes have definitely been a specific look -kinda reads 70's pimp to me . I guess it's a trend?? but it seems more suited to Holden. JR is 51  and I guess Damian is supposed to be a little younger but it looks a little odd on him in my book. But at least they're trying. The men's clothing has been bland/generic for years-either suits or basic casual stuff interchangeable  b/w them.
