THIS

Though I would prefer John and Sami be closer at this point, I'm here for drama though, especially when other soaps are aspiring to be Hallmark movies that air five days a week.

I love how John calls Sami on her [!@#$%^&*]. Just like Caroline used to. You know Sami knows John is right and she can't stand it. Deep down she loves that man but will also always resent him. I love the layers in their relationship and I'm glad Ron's taking advantage of it, as tired as it feels to some (and I get that, especially after Reilly had Sami revert to 16 in his second stint)

I hated the whole Supermom phase in 2009-2010. I'm all for growing a character but I didn't even recognize her lol. Maybe that was just me though.

Like Nicole. They could have done better with her too over the years. I think Ron's found a good balance for both Nicole and Sami (finally). Now we just need to get that albatross EJ off of her back.

Well, Ron's constantly on Twitter so I'm sure he's seen the tweets hoping for a Lumi reunion. It would be great. You have them bond over Allie and what she's going through, and over time they begin to rediscover their feelings for one another. Add Sami's guilt over EJ and her feelings of obligation to him and have her torn between that and her feelings for Lucas and you have a really good reunion story.

That's what I would do lol

I legitimately can't get over just how bland Nu-Claire is. Seriously did no one with a personality actually audition for the role?

I groaned as soon as Marci Miller showed back up. She looks great, but all I can think about when I see her is the awful Gabby storyline and her lack of personality.

Yeah, I also don't really care whether Ciara lives or dies, but I do think the show has been playing all the right storyline beats here. I loved how we got the scenes of Hope breaking down in Abe's arms, plus the comic (but absolutely plausible) scenes of Victor wanting to shoot Ben.

I really applaud the show for continuing the Lani/Kristen friendship as I thought it was a high point for both characters during the TJ. And Lani keeps the sane part of Kristen alive.

I'd ve pissed too if I was Lani after Eli betrayed her.

I laughed at Victor wanting to murder Ben for Ciara's death. They played the comedy well but John Aniston also showed the hurt he was feeling over losing Ciara. Even Ciara's death is a chance to prop up Ben.

I can't believe Hope is back at work already.

It looks like Days is finally doing a fairly realistic John/Marlena story for once. I hope they keep with the storyline of John's neurological trauma (and subsequent inability to control his anger) because I'm finding it really compelling--and that scene with Sami was great.

I'm really loving Jan. I hope she stays around.

I wonder what they have for a post-Eric Nicole. If they were smart and to keep the rivalry with Sami going, they'd tease pairing Nicole and Lucas again. Sami would lose her mind over that!

    • Does the ball on GL where Philip revealed that he had forced Alan out of Spaulding count or was that not Philip's idea?  There was a ball on AMC where Adam revealed that he had bankrupted Palmer, I think (or was it the other way around?), but I can't remember who threw that.
    • Thanks for honoring Ruth Buzzi. She was a treasure. I'm glad DAYS let her have some fun. I remember Imogene Coca complaining about ATWT just giving her a drab guest part.
    • It's such a delicious set of circumstances that I'm actually a little surprised that I can't think of ones that exactly match. I've just got a couple of close but no cigars (the reveal wasn't public, like when Alexis told Dominique at her and Garrett's engagement party that Garrett lied about being married; or the revealer didn't come up with the idea of the party). Maybe I need to think some more about it.
    • Not too shabby, making her mark in only six episodes. There's a project for the soap historians -- characters with the least episodes/most impact.
    • Which could make sense , except that we have seen Mariah function for years w/o any real residue pain from her upbringing. Josh decides to randomly make it a thing, when a good writer might foreshadow that for months. It's not like he's just arrived at the show. He's been there for years . Everything seems to be thought out only a few weeks ahead. It's like Phyllis all freaky from being kidnapped when she has done a million other things that didn't seem to bother her at all.
    • Unrelated, sort of, but he looks absolutely nothing like Amanda Setton or Dominic Zamprogna so it's kind of hilarious they decided to make Gio their kid.  It's very clear this was not the original origin story for Gio when they cast him. He is a very handsome guy though.
    • I tend to agree, although going back to OLTL, Frank has so often cast guys who are meant to be attractive yet come across as cold and dead, I'm surprised he managed to get one who has a bit of a pulse.
    • For all I care, the boy can parade around in a g-string.  It won't make this show suck any less.
    • AMC was about a decade later so things may have changed by then, although maybe they never approached her anyway. She joined Santa Barbara in 1985, when they didn't seem interested in bringing back Hope. SB ended in late 1992, so JFP could have asked her back, but I doubt she did. For as much as JFP clearly had some use for Rick Hearst given that she hired him on GH and kept him around as often as she could, I don't think she ever used Alan-Michael well. I can't see Elvera as Delia, but she could have worked well as Faith - she had a glimpse of a strong personality alongside warmth, which only one Faith ever managed (Catherine Hicks).
