I can't take this. First Richard... Now Shannen. I am devastated. Beyond words.

What a weekend this has been.

You can’t help but admire the fight that Shannen Doherty put up all these years and the courage and the bravery that it took to do that.

It really is something that everyone should be proud of.

RIP

Shannen Doherty Dead: Brenda on 'Beverly Hills 90210' (variety.com)

Shannen fought such a hard battle. Sorry to hear she's gone but she will always be remembered, especially for Brenda Walsh.

She'll always be Prue Halliwell for me. She fought a hard fight against cancer TWICE, and that's her impact on this world. She fought with everything she had, even until the very end. Her spirit will live on. Fück. Cancer SUCKS!

Man, what a legend. I don’t think anyone could have ever imagined her becoming a face of cancer in just her mid-40s and being gone not even ten years later. As young as she was, it’s amazing how huge and varied her body of work is. I think her passing is felt by almost every corner of the entertainment business.

I am a breast cancer survivor. I was so upset I misspelled her name, dammit. I have fixed that now.

Another breast cancer survivor just pointed out that when this awful disease metastasizes, it is then treatable but it is not curable. Inevitable conclusion. Devastating.

I have 2 friends, one very old & very close, who both have this kind of cancer in their lungs, an organ it seems to like to attack. In both cases the chemo is such that the cure nearly kills you.

I was a big fan of OUR HOUSE. Then again a big fan of CHARMED. I have been following her story. I have great admiration for her courage. And, finally, FUQUE CANCER!!!

Very sad but more surprising than it should be to me - I honestly thought at this point Shannen was too tough to die. A TV legend.

What a year. What a series of years.

People may say many things about her, but everyone knows to acknowledge that Doherty was a fighter and it is sad that she is no longer here to fight another day but here’s to the hope that she is now at peace. If only all the various entities would stop fighting each other and summon the resolve to fight for and against what really matters, defeating these life threatening diseases!
