Totally underrated but was ubiquitous for many years. And of course his daughter is Elizabeth Dennehy, who preceded Sherry Stringfield as Blake/Christina on GL.

He's done so much, yet I mostly remember him from Dynasty, where he was the prosecutor (Jake Dunham) in Blake's murder trial, and was responsible for bringing Alexis back to Denver.

Ditto. I know I've seen him in many other things, but Dynasty stands out for me. RIP.

It's not so much that he was underrated, Dennehy was a true character actor that quietly and deftly became absorbed into any role. He was utterly well-respected for his work onstage. His performance in The Iceman Cometh was particularly standout. R.I.P.

And how did it escape my attention that Elizabeth Dennehy was his daughter?!!

You may be thinking of Brian Keith.

Ah, yes. My bad!

But now I do know Brian Dennehy (versus Keith), because I recalled him as a psycho police shrink in, of all things, Hunter, all the way back in the pilot, of which Joanna Kerns was also in. I read he was fantastic as Willy Loman in Death of A Salesman on Broadway, as well.

Mr. Dennehy signed our Playbills and chatted with a few of us who went into the city to catch a matinee of Death of a Salesman on Broadway. He was a wonderful Willy Loman and seemed like a kind man. And of course soap geek here mentioned Elizabeth being on GL ("Oh yeah, she was on there for a little while...").

RIP

Brian also appeared in the # 4 episode of Dallas " Winds Of Vengeance " in 1978. He held the Ewing family hostage and put a gun to Sue Ellen's head. Sue Ellen was forced to wear her Miss Texas banner and sing " People" as she was crying.
