First, we had people ignoring the danger (or worse, believing Trump's assessment that the virus would simply disappear); and now, we have people trying every which way they can to jump ahead in the line for the vaccine.  COVID-19 has shown to the rest of the world just how ignorant and dangerous Americans can truly be.

Mind you, homeschooling rates were already on the rise among Black households with children.

The man who helped raised millions of pounds for a struggling NHS in the UK last year during the pandemic has died of COVID himself today...

That is so sad. Just imagine how much he saw in his 100 years on this planet. Damn!

Agree.  But, at least he did his best to leave this world a little better than how he found it, which is what we all should do, I think.

There's been some backlash because he went to Barbados for Christmas. I guess at his age I can understand why he decided to just take the risk, but I can see why some are unhappy about possible exposure of the people in Barbados who had to help him and his family.

Barbados should not have allowed it. Australia, that barred their own citizens from entering the country for months, got a lot of flack recently for allowing tennis players to enter on chartered flights, even under strict quarantine and frequent testing. Australia, with less than 1,000 deaths over the past year, has handled the pandemic much better than the U.K., which should not ge allowed to export disease to their former colonies that have yet to get access to vaccine for their population.

Great Britain to a large extent, as well as the U.S. is the reason why any of the islands in the Caribbean even have COVID-19 in the first place. It's really very thoughtless and entitled. And a colonizing instinct.
