Days of our Lives- Entire cast fired!?

Yeah, I think this is a business move more than a cancellation one - I'm not sure NBC would like to send it off the air without any closure.

I guess most of the actors aren't exactly in high demand though the risk is of course the younger cast actually just moving on.

The article says the actors contracts will include less 💰. How much less can they go? They are working for peanuts. It's a take it or leave deals if Days is renewed.

I get that we all have an attachment to these shows, but at this point, when things get this bad, cancellation seems like the only viable option. I'd rather that than see the show cling to life support on a non-existent budget with barely any recognizable cast. It's just too damn painful to see these shows become less reputable than a high school play.

Hope it works out.

I know we're always talking about what a mess the show is at times but I'd hate to see it go.

Not me!  Days can go and take the other 3 piles of rotgut with it!  Behind the times oppressive trash.  Bye bye!

I've been saying FOREVER that DAYS needed to make some REAL, MAJOR changes.  Perhaps this is the opportunity to do just that.

Wow, that's brutal. I hope they can work something up. As much as these shows annoy me at times, they still provide a sort of comfort and steadiness in my life just knowing that they exist.

What’s the west coast equivalent to Peapack again? 😉

I agree, but I also find there is a ton of talent out there, you just need to actually give a damn.

Oh boy. This is messy.

At this point, no matter what happens, I hope they're able to wrap up the show nicely. I think the strong majority of the cast love the show enough to return to give the show a proper farewell, if able to by the higher ups.

Jason47 posted about this on his facebook page. The show has done this before for 4 months. This is to be expected. Whether or not NBC renews, they will begin taping in March 2020 for August airing episodes maybe to film the final stories until cancellation date. So they'll still be approx 4 months ahead.

They never released the whole cast before though. They did this for actors who contracts expired during a longer hiatus. Not the entire cast. This is not the same or expected no matter how much Corday wants to spin this. There is no sugar in this bowl

Also what about the Crew? They dont get paid? They they all get laid off???

Are you referring to the actors or writers? Because if the writing continues to suck...no great actor can make Ron's sh!tty writing work.

Guys, it's a sweatshop type work environment at this point. With the way the budget is, they're never going to bring in anyone top notch or from outside the industry.

It's all designed to just keep the lights on regardless of quality content at this point.
