Y&R November 2019 Discussion Thread

My uneducated guess: if the rumor IS true, then they HAVE hired a new HW.  (God, I hope it isn't Patrick Mulcahey).  However, for whatever reason, he/she/they isn't ready to assume the reins officially, thus leaving Y&R without a HW for an extended period of time (perhaps, the first time ever in its' history).  Ergo, they've given Josh Griffith this contract extension in order to ensure a smooth(er) transition.  In the meantime, as Josh wraps up his "stories," he might be laying groundwork for stories that his successor(s) wants to pick up on once he/she/they is officially in charge.

 

Again, though, that's an uneducated guess, based on nothing more than the little man in my stomach.

If JG is going, who is left to replace him? The same few writers are being recycled and newbies eg Mal Young have been failures.

There is still a chance to turn the show around creatively to some extent, but whether ratings would  respond is another matter.

Does anyone have anything good to say about Griffith's run?

I tried, but only negatives came to mind..
