Y&R is so bad. About once a week I try to watch the show and usually tune out right after the opening credits. There is literally nothing to hold my interest. I cannot stand the new Chance and the Theo guy looks like he needs a bath. Who is casting the show nowadays? He/she should be fired. I never make it to the end credits to see. The show has no direction and is lifeless.

I can't even get through reading the summaries and spoilers, like I used to.  It all reads as  b-o-r-i-n-g. I don't know have how people slog through episode after episode.

And apparently, Josh Griffith has been given a 3 Month extension as Head Writer? 🤷🏿‍♂️

Where did you hear this?

My uneducated guess: if the rumor IS true, then they HAVE hired a new HW.  (God, I hope it isn't Patrick Mulcahey).  However, for whatever reason, he/she/they isn't ready to assume the reins officially, thus leaving Y&R without a HW for an extended period of time (perhaps, the first time ever in its' history).  Ergo, they've given Josh Griffith this contract extension in order to ensure a smooth(er) transition.  In the meantime, as Josh wraps up his "stories," he might be laying groundwork for stories that his successor(s) wants to pick up on once he/she/they is officially in charge.

Again, though, that's an uneducated guess, based on nothing more than the little man in my stomach.

I think it's inevitable he's going soon. I can buy them extending him 3 months as they transition.

On another thread within this board. Think in the Spoiler section. I hold my hands up as a messenger/carrier of speculation (in this instance, if unverified at this stage) 🙈

If JG is going, who is left to replace him? The same few writers are being recycled and newbies eg Mal Young have been failures.

There is still a chance to turn the show around creatively to some extent, but whether ratings would  respond is another matter.

Does anyone have anything good to say about Griffith's run?

I tried, but only negatives came to mind..
