B&B is starting to catch up to Y&R in some areas. And surpassed them in the 18-49 women viewers category. It looks like a lot people are actually interested in the reveal/fallout of the baby switch storyline. I think they like the action/drama from that storyline. It's the only storyline really going on B&B right now but people are tuning in for it.

I feel bad for Days which I think is interesting right now. I am enjoying Days. I wish that soap had better ratings.

I stopped watching DAYS for a few months because of how boring the show became. I watched two episodes last week and saw it is still all about Sarah-Rex-Eric... nothing changed. I don't plan on picking up again until I know big changes have been made with the show.

With the re-consolidation of CBS with Viacom, there will certainly be layoffs and terminations as well as shifts in positions within the company.

I'm kind of curious as to how this could affect CBS Daytime

I can't see the division remaining unchanged, especially with things on a definite downward slide.

Hi Angie!  More important, B&B and Y&R are only 288,000 apart in viewers.....

‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ Makes Daytime TV Ratings History

The half-hour soap topped the all-important Women 25-54 demo among all daytime programming. That includes all soaps, game shows and talk shows.

The end of the Hope baby storyline is surely going to push the show over the top.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.

...I'm surprised Bell didn't reveal the baby switch during July Sweeps month.  For all the show's faults, in this day and genre you need an umbrella story with a payoff, something I haven't seen in awhile.

Look at those demo wins for B&B...it's probably bittersweet in a way since Brad is toppling his father's gem...but it's been driven so far into the ground by successive regimes for the past 15 years that I imagine he's quite pleased.

The CBS/Viacom merger should see some changes in the executive structure. Hopefully they realize that, like fish, the rot starts at the head and it's McDaniel, along with Griffith, who need to go.

I don't know how anyone looks at B&B as a success.  Shows are having to tie their all time lows for B&B to be #1 in anything.  They might be #1 in some things but those 18-49 numbers are dreadful, #1 or not.  I tuned in briefly just to see the end of the baby story but there's nothing really to see.  Thomas just disappears?  huh?  And I saw Ridge defending him a little bit.  It was kind of a yawner.  Like someone else said in another post - I might have cared more if I liked Hope but I can't stand her.

    • Yes. He was asleep in the living room, over in the chair that is sideways to the room, but faces it & he had one of his bad dreams in the exact same way as always & as always it woke him up. Is that a thing? Are there bad dreams that for some reason always wake you?
    • Just happy to see the Pointer Sisters getting their flowers again, thanks to GTA 6.

    • Yeah, I was fickle. I abandoned baby watch & just tried to think of really well matched pairings. Yeah, they sent Carter & Thomasina away far too soon for my way of looking at things.  I REALLY liked them & they were rare being both young & African Americans.
    • My watching in that time period was sketchy.  After high school, I didn't have a TV.  I would watch in the dormitory common room  my first year away from home, but then after that I lived in a rental with housemates who didn't want TV.  I think I caught up on the soaps during school(univ) vacations, when visiting my sister's house.  And then many many years later on soapnet?  Not sure. I had no idea that Jeff ever tried suicide. Reading just now is the first I ever heard of that. Interesting. I will agree that Monica wanted Jeff out of the way so she could be with Rick, but she would have wanted him gone emotionally.  But I don't remember watching Jeff having any medical issues, so I don't know if she would have wanted him dead.
    • Didn't he have a nightmare last week?
    • Nothing about Joss ever works. I can't blame them for trying a completely fresh approach for her, but she needs to be written out.
    • Thanks @Paul Raven  Some of this sounds strong but it's all so heavy and some elements, like with Felicia and Charles, almost veer on parody. L&L seemed to always be a heavy show - did they ever even have comic relief moments? - but I do wonder if it all became too much for viewers.
    • It's a joke. If there's a way to put Joss into a WSB spy story that works, I haven't seen it. What they're doing is just ridiculous. Imagine trusting a huge operation to someone who "finished training" a month ago. I think they're trying to make this work by having a college-age agent be a part of the professor's class, etc. It might look acceptable on paper, but it doesn't work when you see it.
    • Monday, after the party, Leslie showed up at the Duprees. Martin was with everyone as they listened to her for a bit. Then Martin said he was needed at home.  Anita and Vernon knew he was upset and they were concerned. Vernon asked "Do you need Titus, or are you okay to drive?"  Martin said he was okay and left to drive himself home. Either Titus is a chauffeur or just some helpful all-around employee.
    • if only Dante had admitted to hating string instruments earlier....
