Which character on soaps has the record for the most children? I’ll assume it’s a man. 

Days -

Marlena carried the most children. 8 total (Counting Roman’s baby from 2005 and I believe she and Alex North apparently had child.) 

Kate have 6 total

they both beat out Alice Horton

 

Stefano DiMera's had 8 so that has to be the record. Plus he had two adoptive child to round it out to 10.

Stefano would be my guess too.  But Sonny Corinthos has to get some award

That's a lot too and I am probably missed some and unlike Stefano all but one of these kids happened on screen.

This is an interesting thread, lol. I guess we are counting all types of children, including birth and adopted & even deceased.

 

Here are some other characters who may not hold the record for most kids, but who still had a lot:

 

Viki on One Life to Live had five kids: Meghan, Joey, Kevin, Natalie, Jessica. 

Caroline Brady had six including two adoptive children, Roman, Kimberly, Kayla, Bo, Frankie, and Max.

 

And if you wanted to do grandchildren some characters have a bunch of them. Victoria Newman on Y&R has: Noah, Cassie, Summer, Reed, Faith, Johnnie, Katie, Connor and Christian. Tom and Alice have a bunch, I looked at who's who at Soapcentral, and it had them listed with ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. And I wonder when that list may have been last updated, lol.

Eric Forrester on Bold and Beautiful has eight kids including if you include Ridge who is technically Massimo's but was raised by Eric/considers him his father. And Marcus who he adopted. Stefanie Forrester has five and Brooke Logan has five, (without factoring in any of her miscarriages).

 

Joe Martin on All My Children has five.

I forgot about Stefano. Wouldn’t it be 11 now? Tony, Renee, Andre, Megan, Benjy, Kristen, Peter, Lexie, EJ, Chad, and Stefan. I don’t know the order of ages, I just put them in the order of appearances. 

 

Its shocking Erica Kane didn’t have more given the times she had been married.

In my head Iva Snyder was Bea’s child too and Emma adopted her. Which one of those Reardons did Bridgette belong to? Was Matt Bea’s too?

Matt and Bridget were Sean and Mary's kids, along with never seen Luke, Megan, and Ryan.
