A thread for shows that were piloted / developed / announced under a different title that was used when they actually aired.

To begin

Dynasty - Oil

Falcon Crest - The Vintage Years

Lost in Space - Space Family Robinson

The Man From Uncle - Solo

Mad About You - Loved By You

Please add to the list and comment if there is an original title you preferred.

"Upstairs Downstairs"  -  "Behind the Green Baize Door", "Below Stairs", "Two Little Maids in Town", "The Servant's Hall", "That House in Eaton Square", "165 Eaton Place"

(They obviously had difficulties coming up with a final name. But I think they got it right in the end.   ^_^)

Another name for Grey's Anatomy was Complications. Which I think is frankly better but GA has worked out pretty well for them so what do I know?

It's certainly better than MY suggested title: "The REAL General Hospital."

Port Charles was originally going to be GH2

The Colby's did originally have Dynasty II: The Colby's in the title.

Apparently one of the suggestions was originally to have Dynasty air two times a week with focus on different sets of characters (at least I'd assume that Joan, John and Linda wouldn't have agreed to a schedule forcing them to film twice as much). It might've  worked considering how many amazing characters they had that went underused like Dominique and Caress.

The original suggested title for Beverly Hills 90210 was Class of Beverly Hills (which ended up being the pilot title). In hindsight, nothing having the word "class" probably helped them transition out of school eventually.

Came here to post this. Ah yes, but there's a double entendre with the word class when dealing with the upper echelon of Beverly Hills.
