This! Watched today after a long time not watching and felt this way. Today's show was bland and boring. Who is this Oscar person? A new Cameron? Sonny is still a waste and so is Carly....old Carly is on too.....didn't see much of anything going on ....

GH goes through the motions. But there's no spark of life. All the remaining soaps have that deadening tonality.  Cluttered with a mass assortment of ill conceived unlikable characters. I try watching but seeing the look of entitlement in Sonny's face. Or Jason and Drew's blank expressions. Is a real turn off. Even watching once in a blue moon is a real chore for me. I used to love to hate watch it. Just to goof it. But even that stopped becoming fun ages ago.

They do have a modest fanbase on Twitter but I completely agree. They're just so blah. Anna and McBain sparked decently and made sense but Anna and Finn are just too incompatible. As a result, they've basically changed his entire character from idiosyncratic doctor to Scorpio-lite with accompanying Anna on missions and Duke-lite with the dancing. Outside of his sarcasm, everything that defined Finn to begin with has been watered down.

I don't understand the obsession of making sure Finola has a new leading man every year or so when there was never any problem with her chemistry with Ian Buchanan or Tristan Rogers. There's just no logic behind it. In the last six years, we had Michael Easton as McBain, Luke, Faison (masquerading as Duke, then this awful newly conconcted history I can't even stomach), Duke, whomever Grayson McCouch was playing, Andre... there was even a time there where they were testing her with Paul before they did a total rewrite and made him a serial killer. I just don't get it. There hasn't been enough spark between her and any of these guys so it's just a constant revolving door. Terrible. Not to mention the Peter s**t has all but destroyed Anna's character and made her unrecognizable.

Does anyone care about Nina, besides people who like her just because they liked MS on Y&R?

Seriously, does anyone care about her role in this Charlotte bullying storyline? She's so out of place and I can't imagine that anyone is rooting for her seeing as she's a horrific step mother. The only reason anyone would be on Nina's side is simply because they don't like Lulu.

Does anyone care if Nina and Valentin reunite? Not to mention their relationship is literally just the same crap over and over again. Nina decides to trust him and then he lies to her again, and she's shocked and devastated. Yawn.

Does anyone care if Nina finds her real daughter?

I'm guessing no to all. Why is this character shoved down our throats every day? Her relationship with Maxie is okay to watch, but that's about it. I'm tired of watching her get shoehorned into all kinds of scenes and story lines.

Speaking of Maxie... is anyone actually feeling her and Peter together? Their scenes are like watching paint dry for me. Doesn't help that I don't like Peter in general and the actor is terrible.

I still can't believe how much air time the Oscar story is getting.

The Ryan story continues to be the only one worth watching.

Unfortunately, it looks like Michael Easton as Finn is the one who finally stuck. She's gotten more with him any of those other guys. She has gotten more with him than she did with Duke for their second time around.

Grayson played the dude she mentored. The original actor came back to play Sloane because GM wasn't interested in returning to the show when FH came back from vacation that summer just to play Sloane being killed.

    • Put me in the minority in being happy about Cat not being Abby. After the two adult recasts played tag with the role, it's time for a few years of rest. I have a huge list of things I hate about RC's writing, but that choice was not one of them.
    • Except she never worked there at all and barely even knew where the Chancellor Industries plant was located  In 1980, Kay attempted to install Derek Thurston (her third husband) in a position at Chancellor Industries.  The show introduced a character named George Packard who'd supposedly been running Chancellor since Phillip's demise in 1975.  (George Packard's storyline in 1980 was attempting to keep Derek Thurston from bankrupting the company.)   We didn't hear much of anything about Chancellor Industries for the next twenty-five years.  Then, at that point, we met Eliot Hampton (?) who'd been running the company for decades and had been embezzling from it.  Jill took it upon her herself to oust Eliot Hampton (?) and take control of the company.  That's when Kay became actively involved in the management of the company.  From 1974 till 2004 Kay Chancellor was strictly a hands-off owner.  It was downright absurd that the last ten years of life, she was written as this formidable businesswoman who'd always been involved in Chancellor Industries.
    • Well, it's going to be something when he finds out the truth.  Agreed.  On that note, I can't until it all comes out. I find Lulu to be ridiculous.
    • I almost posted this because that was my initial reaction too:  this is weird/cringe, to sing around a piano after such a huge family shattering bomb was dropped.  But I got over that and just enjoyed her voice, the song and the montage we saw as everyone's emotions in the aftermath were pouring out.
    • The Equalizer original series was not a big hit yet it became a movie franchise and got a reboot series. The Equalizer reboot lasted 5 seasons, so one season longer than the original series.
    • Today is Sean Freeman's birthday

His social media/IMDb doesn't have his age but from some posts he's made, I'm guessing 1989 is his birth year.
    • Here's the timeline, as I recall it being published. The WGA strike was 5/2–9/27/2023 Annalynne McCord was announced as being hired in December 2023, for a one-year contract https://deadline.com/2024/06/days-of-our-lives-when-to-expect-annalynne-mccord-peacock-1235975806/ RonC's first scripts back from the strike began airing May 31, 2024 (around Konstantine & Maggie's wedding) https://www.tvinsider.com/1137709/days-of-our-lives-writers-return-15000th-episode-storylines/ Her first air date was June 19th 2024. The actress has said she was not told who she would be playing until she started taping. RonC 's replacements were announced July 2024, with his scripts airing through April 2025 Side note: DAYS social media team seems to be playing fast and loose with BTS videos, in terms of how far in advance they film content (e.g. their April Fools' Joke videos were clearly not filmed on 4/1/25), so we shouldn't assume anyone's current status, versus those who were there nine months ago.
    • April and her husband (Draper) are the "young leads" who tie all the storyline threads together.  They're normally in the center of the action.  In this particular storyline, Draper is the attorney who represents Paige Madison.  (The district attorney, Logan Swift, has given Paige Madison "temporary immunity from prosecution" if she will lead the police to the members of the Tobias Gang who stole the firearms.  But Paige mainly just ducks bullets from various gang members who pop-up to assassinate her.)
    • It's one thing to post about a soap's rumors or gossip, which in point of fact we've all done. It's another to present yourself as the inside source who knows something to be fact that's about to break wide, then backtrack and call it just Twitter speculation. Between those two extreme poles you have to commit to one or the other. If I got something wrong, I'd say it. (Nor would I keep playing insider after what I pulled with Drake Hogestyn, which should've gotten someone permanently banned.) And regardless, you don't open with this 'news' you don't actually want to stand by yet by mocking DRW's extremely valid concerns re: how the Trina character and Tabyana Ali has been marginalized and put out to virtual pasture ever since the day NAC left. Her playing out her current contract in a C-storyline with Kai does not change that.
