The show should be embarrassed, because CM surely isn’t. When you show NO energy in a punching scene, you should be called in and read the riot act or fired. Just awful. He’ll never be successful, because he has no discipline or dedication. I really want a recast.

And in record time, they've already wasted Lindsey (or is it without the D? I always get confused) as Sarah, IMO (and she should have been a Stephanie recast; I'd say Taylor Walker but I'm still burned over being forced to watch Natalia Livingston waste my time and then Tamara Braun being wasted as a WTF recast). I get they're building something between Eric and Sarah but lawd. DAYS sure does tank any new hire from another soap don't they? Galen Gering's Rafe also continues to serve zero purpose. Why is this character still around? We could have better diversity than him.

But the pearl clutchers!

I'm still waiting for Ron to have Leo and Sonny bond over Knots Landing and Golden Girls reruns

Sarah has become unlikeable quickly. She is really abrasive, and I don't like the accusatory tone she took with Chloe and Maggie. I don't blame Maggie for getting upset with Sarah and basically telling her "enough" after Sarah went off on her accusing her of not having the best intentions regarding Holly. Sarah is going overboard with the way she is treating people during this "Custody for Holly" storyline. I really do think she is largely using this as a distraction to keep her mind off of Rex and what he did to her. I'm glad that Maggie brought that up. Sarah needs to realize that and back off a bit in this storyline. She's acting like a bulldog when it comes to defending Eric.

Also, I am glad that Marlena called Stefan out for being delusional about wanting to have a life with both "Gabby" and Charlotte.  And I want to see more of Brady/Chloe together, supporting each other. I like seeing them interact and wonder what will happen with their relationship this time around.

and  again at "not that sad thing on CW". Lawd. What a hot mess.

I've wanted them to go back to Brady and Chloe for forever, but I'm at the point now where I feel it's too little too late (I really don't care if they get back together at this point anymore) but we'll see. I can't really think of anything exciting for either of them to do and I don't know if I care to see Eve vs. Chloe for Brady (should it go there). I think it's time for a break from Brady. He's been dominating airtime and storylines since he started ten years ago.

I think they will bond but it might be over Gabi being in trouble and Sonny being concerned about how that will affect Ari.

I could actually see Leo stepping up and comforting Ari, once the truth about Gabi comes out and she's looking at possibly going back to prison again.

Yeah I imagine they want to keep GR so I can see Leo being softened and create more of a triangle. I figured GR would have popped back up either way, but I wonder if CS leaving as Paul sort of has Ron rushing to develop a triangle here and Leo serves a few purposes. I imagine it could have been a solid quadrangle if CS had stayed and the writing were a tad better.

Honestly with Maggie and Sarah the nosy busybody apple doesn't seem to fall far from the tree. Though Maggie's basically been holed up in the Kiriakis mansion for years now just poopoohing Victor and then forgiving him. Zzzzz.

The hair isn't very flattering to her, IMO. And Greg looks tired. He needs to shave and get a haircut. LOL. Why does every man on this show look better away from it?

I think that Leo is definitely entertaining and I could see him sticking around for a while. He's done some sleazy stuff, but he's not very evil or anything. IMO, he's more of an opportunist than a straight up villain and I could see them softening him and keeping him longer..  I think that him and Freddie play well off each other and I read that Freddie enjoys working with him. Also,

I believe his comment about the underwear being small was a comment about the size of Sonny's package.

Also he mentioned that once he got in bed with Sonny he was all in (and so was Sonny). Another hint that what makes Sonny attractive is what is below the belt.

    • That's a good point: if a show's state is not mentioned for many years, it's easier for the revolving door of never-ending newbies in charge to miss out on or get confused about previously-established facts.
    • IMO I get a brotherly/sisterly vibe from Kat/Jacob
    • Yes, the locale officially switched to Illinois in the early-1980s.  But I was watching daily during the entire Lemay era, and I'm fairly confident Bay City was never referenced as being in Michigan in any of Lemay's scripts. Agreed, Lemay did care about AW's past -- and used the past as subtext for many characters.  But it is unfortunate he chose never to mention (or perhaps was unaware of) the Michigan connection.  So by not mentioning it, this may be when that connection was lost for TPTB.

King of the Hill Voice Actor Johnathan Joss was gunned down and shot dead this past Sunday at 59 years old in Texas.  Here's the video of someone recording Joss' last moments before he was murdered.  This Monday past, the suspect turned himself to the police station and currently placed on house arrest until his Trial on August.
    • I was hoping the Articulettes  would be more like Klymaxx then the Supremes.  Talk about inspiration for a soapy type of stories  (one of the bandmates tried to use the name in order to perform, internal fighting over who was the lead, and the same bandmate that tried to use the name of the group tried to include their name as a song writer... and almost got an award for songwriting). I could see Sharon/Tracy/Anita fighting over all that... and Sharon trying to use the name Articulettes in order to perform and big bad bully Anita and Vernon block it from happening. Shanice is like Amy Vining... but BTG... Amy Vining had a life beyond the nurses station.
    • I don't believe Lemay was the one who negated the fact that the show was originally set in Michigan. Aside from a few curious character mutations, he did seem to care about the past. I think AW switched the local to Illinois in the 1980s or later. I don't think TPTB always knew or remembered the past well enough to give new headwriters full accurate information, anyway. Lemay wrote a story about Pat Randolph killing a predator named Greg Bernard who was targeting her daughter. The writer referred to a teenaged Pat killing her boyfriend (Tom Baxter) by stabbing him, as she later killed Greg. But in reality, Pat had shot Tom with a gun, so TPTB were lax in knowing or correctly relating established facts to the current scribe. Is the specific murder weapon of a long-gone character a vital component 15 years after the fact? Probably not to most viewers, but for those who had been watching way back when, little mistakes like this can be grating. I'm not devastated that AW changed Bay City's home state along the way, but I see this as another grating point that a little research could have prevented. Soap viewers have loooooong memories, LOL!
    • Ooopphh , I just watched my recording and thought, what's going on there.
    • Yes I was watching AW during that time, but I was very young.  So might have missed the references you mentioned. The late 1960s and early 1970s would have been during the Nixon and Cenedella head-writing eras.  Assuming you are correct, I'm quite surprised (and disappointed) Harding Lemay did not continue the Michigan references.  Especially since he was raised in a far northern region of a northern state, very very near the Canadian border. And I know he loved writing (either directly or indirectly) about his upbringing in that region. Perhaps no one in the studio ever told Lemay about the Michigan connection.  Who knows??  But I'm sure Lemay would have had a field-day playing all those Michigan references, which would have made his AW even more believable and relevant than it already was.  Such a missed opportunity!!
    • To me, there were some weaker writers on ATWT in the 1980s pre-Marland, but starting in 2000, the advent of the show's associated with Hogan Sheffer and Jean Passanante, the quality plummeted and remained in the toilet for the show's remaining years. It's amazing that so many actors were still able to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. I just don't think KMS was one of them.
