Y&R: July Spoilers

  • Member

Here are some spoilers for July including some from SOD (reworded):

Victor and Nikki are going to team up.  Victoria is going to make a distress call.  . Phyllis is going to try to convince the other ladies to dig up JT's body to find out if he may really be alive.. However, when they go to the Park to do this they will be shocked by what they find and face a major obstacle. Phyllis will come up with a very risky plan B. Phyllis is also going to suggest a new alliance. Later on NIkki will end up spiraling out of control. Victor is also going to receive a shocking message.

Jack is going to go to extreme measures and Kyle's digging will lead to trouble. Billy is going to play with fire and end up going to his dark side. Ashley is going to be romanced. And Hilary's doctor will  have a hard time finding her and Devon's baby's heartbeat.

I wonder what the women discover when they go to the park to dig up JT and what extreme measures Jack goes to. Also, I wonder if Nate is the one who romances Ashley.

Yep, she's roadkill.  Pun intended.

Damn, Y&R.  Just...damn.

i don't mind her death, but the minimizing of her relationship w/ Shauna is just another example of why peeps are checking out of soaps. smh

I'm done until Mal is gone. I quit just before the Nick reveal. I'd rather watch General Hospital than this shite.

Was there ever any doubt that Hilary would be killed off? I never had any.

I never had any doubt about this.  She's getting the Dru treatment.  This is the same show that brought on Nichelle Nichols just to kill off her character.  SMH.

Well, it is a soap and even if Hilary is killed off, she could end up like PIII (in Oz), Adam (the first explosion at ballroom), Cane (was impersonated by evil twin), Dru (down the river), etc.

Or come back as Milary (her separated at birth twin sister)....

Hannah. And I don't rule this out. It'd mean they could get MiM back and start her over without having the history of Hilary with Devon, a pairing the show never wanted but fell into because of fans.

NN never would've taken the role if it was more than a couple of episodes. That whole story was completely thrown in without much foundation. It's not like we'd heard of Neil's family circumstances over the years, which we should have. It's weird for being on canvas for 20+ years, all I knew about Neil's past was that he got his MBA at Stanford, that's it.

Maybe they did more exploration during the Bill Bell writing years, but I wasn't really watching except when I'd visit my parents. Did Bell create Neil?  I don't really know who got credit for creating characters under his reign.

According to Wikipedia (which, tbh, shouldn't be considered the end all,be all but is reasonably informative), Neil Winters was created and introduced by William J. Bell.

Here are more spoilers from tomorrow's day ahead recap from soaps.com (reworded)

Nate is going to tell Devon there is not anything they can do for Hilary. Devon is going to hold out hope for a miracle. Nate is going to tell Devon to cherish every moment he has left with Hilary. Nate will tell Devon he thinks that Hilary should know the truth about her condition. Devon will not want to tell her.

Lily is going to visit with Hilary and they will make amends. Hilary will admit she was wrong for not supervising Shauna and Lily will say she's wrong for not realizing that Hilary had turned her life around. Lily will ask for forgiveness and Hilary will be excited about the thought of them being friends once she gets out of the hospital.

Jack will visit Hilary and tell her she's an amazing woman and he's glad they are friends. He will give her a pep talk. Hilary will also talk with Mariah and worry that Devon will leave her because they lost the baby. Devon will hear and reassure that won't happen. He will tell her all the things he loves about her and will propose to her.

Lily also gets a call from the pice this episode. They want to question her

I can imagine that Devon will get angry and blame Shauna in some way, and Charlie will throw Lily under the bus to protect the girlfriend.

I just need, at the very least, a few episodes of Devon reading Lily the riot act and making her sob.

Two things I'm expecting from this fallout: 1) Shauna's baby will be named Hillary in her honor; and 2) within three months, it'll be like Hillary Curtis otherwise never existed.

I find it hard to believe that lily will be a 30 yr old grandmother. Lily a grandmother before Sharon? SMH.

However, agree on hilary not existing. The show gauranteed that when they refused to give her a child. I know some around here didn't like the idea of her having a baby but it's the only thing that could have kept the character relevant after her death. Now the show can make a clean break. There is no reason to recast her or bring Mishael back. Or even talk about her this time next year. In the grande scheme of things, she's nothing to the show. And they are proving it by killing her off for ratings. All the characters that have left over the past years, they are killing her off in an unambiguous onscreen death. She's in an even lower category as Sage since she, at least, got to leave a Newman child behind to be remembered. Fans are left with nothing after 5 full years of Hilary leading story.

Even day player Juliet's baby survived.

They didn't give MiM a raise for five years and didn't offer her a raise when her contract was up.  Y&R's most successful star in years.  Is this payback for her walking?

I don’t know if it was @KMan101 who made the comment, but the simultaneous stories of Hilary and her baby dying on Y&R and Eli/Lani’s baby dying on DAYS do feel meaningful to me. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see, but these tragic stories don’t seem like huge jumping-off points for long term stories, as they often are for white/non-black characters. (Look at Gabi’s inability to have more children as fuel for a frontburner revenge plot on DAYS.) It just feels like more black erasure.
