I wonder if there were similar complaints?

I guess the difference was that it was just one story in the midst of other strong plots(not happening today) Also Tricia Cast delivered so audience took to her (not happening this time)

Excellent points. I'd like to rewatch that storyline if possible. I only remember bits and pieces of Nina coming on the canvas because I was young when Tricia joined the show. Nina came across as endearing, naively manipulative while holding her own versus the likes of Jill and Katherine. Later on, her scenes versus Heather Tom -- so good. But, I digress.

Do we know why Hillary turned on Juliet when she’s the one that told her to sue Cane in the first place?

There were the usual complaints about Nina back then (especially since Cricket was heavily involved with her stories) but Tricia Cast was such a strong actress she earned her spot with talent.

You beat me to it. There was a ton of resentment and hate toward LLB and this was initially was viewed as a Cricket story. But TC had such presence and despite not looking like a hair model, really stood out. She was an unexpected find. Unfortunately, CF doesn't have that kind of magic.

It also helped that Y&R transitioned Tricia into stories with heavy hitters like JC, QR & JW which essentially transitioned her from 'Cricket's sidekick' to a formidable character in her own right (which was huge given Cricket was essentially the only younger lead heroine in her age range at the time).

I don't really understand any of Hillary's motivations right now.  I suppose she's hoping that Jordan will come back to her if Cane gets Lily back.  Ridiculous that Queen Hillary should care about that in any way.

If read that Nina was inly meant to be a short term character..for the summer teen social issue story like the other teen mother Mollie...yet TC was so memorable that the show wrote her back in after a short absence.

I do like the returns of Dina and Alice, but im wondering what the long term payoffs are going to be for both being back.  Has MAL young given any interviews on where he is taking the show come late October?

Right now, you have a potential villianess in Juliet that is finally causing Lily and Cane to hash out all the issues they've kept buried in their marriage.

You also have an intriguing character in Tessa (shame actress isn't up to par) that has chemistry with Mariah.  I do think it's a shame they didn't follow up 9n the I ritual nikki/Tessa friendship considering Nikki ended up in rose devilles escort service back when she tried to break into modeling.

I'm curious about the graham/Dina story...and how it will affect Ashley and Jack.  Any news on if Traci will be visiting again?

Lastly, The billy/Phyllis thing shouldn't have ended.  T bh, I'm surprised Sally was against it because she was the one that started nick/phyllis..unless she felt it was too redundant?

Lastly, what's up with the Victoria character?  It isn't just the actress..but the writing foe her that is the problem.  Do the writers not know who the character is?  She's headstrong and business minded with a cold streak like her father, but impulsive like her mother.

You find Tessa to be intriguing? OK...

I find her to be bland and scattered all over the place. SSM clearly didn't know what the h-ll she was going to do with the character. I do agree that this prostitute story is missing Nikki, who could've made us all care a bit more. The bit with her sister, Crystal, is absurd too. No one knows her or cares for her. I feel like this is a story that a recast Summer should've been in.

And this turd that Abby messing with is not convincing as the head of a prostitution ring. If anything, the actor playing Graham would've been more convincing. They should've brought on some descendant of Rose to be head of what's going on in Genoa City.

I hate that Sharon is playing Nancy Drew along with being paired with Scott. Sharon's story should be her finding her father and getting to the root of her mental illness. It's the pink elephant in the room that each regime keeps ignoring.

This show just continues to be a mess.

I still dislike this trafficking storyline, but the actress who plays Alice was excellent the last couple of days.

I agree with you that Nikki could have added more dimension to this hollow story (unfortunately the actress who plays Tessa just isn't strong enough) and Sharon Case can't carry the story by herself.

However, I disagree with you on that person Abby is messing around with to be not convincing. Traffickers tend to be young men who prey on vulnerability of women because it's easier. The women fall for there charm, and believe in them. That's probably one of the most convincing part of this story. I would not have bought it at all if it were Graham.

Sorry but I am not buying that, that little turd messing with Abby is in charge of a damn prostitution ring. I just don't. He still looks prepubescent.

I simply would've bought the Graham character in this story b/c of his age; he looks like a man with some experience with women.

I agree with you. The Zack character as head of a sex ring is a big fail.

I see your point of view. But I've been seeing sex ring leaders (I don't even think that term is used these days?) as young as 19 these days. It's easier to take advantage when you have good looks and charm. I can't fault the actor for looking younger than he is. The point is to wine and dine these women to fall for you, so they don't know until it's too late. Graham would make more sense back in the Rose Deville days, but today, offenders tend to be younger sadly.

Tessa HAS to be recast.

Would a recast even help with the awful character that no one cares about to begin with?
