Obviously Will is going through a lot because that speech clearly showed that he is struggling. It was about more than the joke and he took out whatever aggression he had on Chris Rock.

He just punched a guy on live television and then had to go give an award winning speech at the Oscars 10 minutes later. Of course he’s going to “struggle” and be all emotional.  Come on.

No need to be condescending, Toups. What I saw is that he has some issues that were underlying before anything that happened tonight because his emotion seemed more than just for the moment. He needs some mental health services and immediately.

Amazing speech by Will. My heart was pounding.   As a life long Will Smith fan, I’m so proud of him.   “Protect your family.”

It was a good speech.

I saw that quote from Stephen A earlier too.. I actually do think that Will will make it through this I do. I actually wouldn't be surprised if things work out somehow. Maybe him and Chris will talk things out and make peace.

I agree with this. No one who is well behaves like he did. It’s ok to look at him with compassion and concern.

I wonder what the ratings tomorrow (finals on Tuesday) will look like. Might be a huge spike in the final hour with people who weren’t watching getting word of the smackdown and tuning in.

Jessica Chastain's speech was so amazing.

It is no mystery to me that the Best Actress learned about humanity from her experience making her film and the Best Actor only gained a distorted perspective about himself.

I just don’t think a dude giving one punch/slap equates to mental illness.  Sure it was at the Oscars but I just think it’s a stretch.  You can take the man out of West Philadelphia but you can’t take West Philadelphia out of the man.  Go Will!
