But...didn't Phyl live there before it was Summer's?  And wasn't there a period of time when Daniel lived there too?  She was there because at the time, Phyllis and Jack were fuckin.  At least, that's my recollection.

Jack sold the old place to use the money to buy this one. He handled the business aspects but it's owned by Summer. He can't kick anyone out.

I was thinking he let Summer "use" it when he thought she was his daughter.  My brain is old, so I'm probably wrong.

No. He bought it for her using Phyllis' money.

I thought Charlie suppose to be a bad boy.

I figured he was just supposed to be "soulful and fiery" like every other young character on soaps has been described

I just watched Monday's show. I just cannot believe it, this is classic Y&R

Sally MacDonald's directing was delicious. I am so excited. I really really hope they can keep it up.

PS. sorry but Lily's kids are ridiculous. The actress playing Brainy Mattie is so green, her delivery is like scraping a blackboard with your fingernails. But I am willing to give them a chance on this.

All the male Newmans could leave the current canvas at any given second & little to nothing would be affected.

Well, they really didn't explain what Charlie suppose to be. They just said they were going to age the twins.

But the way he came off, it looks like he suppose to be a bad boy.

Praise the soap Gods for that. All Newmans all the time was so tedious.

Right?

But the irony is the female Newmans are thriving.

Nikki, Sharon, Victoria, Abby and even Mariah are getting some of the strongest material they've gotten in years. It's weird.

Not really when you think about it. Sally immediately went back to this being a female led soap. So it makes sense.

Well not in that way.

Although I think saying things are female led is stretching things. Certain female characters are more visible but only a few of them are really reaping the benefits of SSM's regime (most of them still Newmans).

But also in the sense that since Heather Tom's exit the Newmans have been driven primarily by the male members of the family. It's hard to remember when the Newmans were a more equitable family (even with Nikki stuck as a housewife). It's a nice change of pace.
