I think it's because they were afraid if they were to say "finale," viewers would assume that the show(s) wouldn't come back next fall? I dunno, it's a good question!

After tonight's episode I think it's clear that Cody has DID and that it was his alter who pushed Marianne and smashed Arlo over the head.

Meanwhile. if they kill of Marty and Monique's baby, that'll be four dead babies for Marty - including the one Dawn miscarried back in 2020. I don't think it was ever revealed whether Marty or Prince was the father of that child but it would still count regardless.

BTG: June 2026 Discussion Thread

I didn't find that yesterday's episode said anything new about Kat's thoughts or feelings. It was a typical after-school special type of dream/nightmare.
I mean, "hurts, don't it?" isn't quite the flex they wanted it to be. I like Eva, but at least 50% of Kat's attitude towards her is earned. (And lest we forget, she was not the only Dupree wanting to keep Eva away---Anita was right there with "this does not make you a Dupree" when it all hit the fan.)
What I don't understand is BTG messing with the one compelling through line it had---two sisters who don't like each other stepping on each other's toes. I don't need Kat and Eva playing nice. They really haven't had big enough battles going on, IMO.

Helen Wagner hit the nail on the head when she said it was about "the details of people's lives and their interaction rather than the thrust of the story." People don't tune into their favorite shows for the plots; they tune in for the characters. This is true, not just for soaps, but for all TV shows. Why the networks won't get that through their thick skulls, I'll never know.
