The Ravi/Ashley thing is really working for me. I'm just eager to see where any of these new things go as they develop, the thing is there isn't too much new yet. I won't deny the show is taking its sweet time getting somewhere beyond rebuilding character (and a lot of the simple talk scenes really work for me, beyond the Victor sainthood tour which has done its job and gotten old) and can be taxing with the Faith shît going on and on, but I think its heart is in the right place despite some fumbles, like Amelia Heinle seeming baffled and brittle with Reed, and the bizarre porn angle which is just antiquated, and the noble attempt to reconceive Abby and put her over - it's not gonna happen with Ordway and I think the character needs a long break from the canvas. There is boring and/or lame stuff, but there's also a lot I just find simple and clean work.

I also don't think Lauren is a sideline in the Fenmore's story. I think it features a lot of people at once, and Phyllis has largely taken a back seat to others in it for a while. They could clean house with Chelsea, Chloe, Abby, etc. and not be running at a loss. We'll see how much they do. I do think Heinle comes off even worse with somewhat better writing, but Heinle may be unfireable. I do wonder if they face a similar dilemma with Lily.

Also curious if the new nanny is going to be an actual character or is just a bit player - she was cute.

Also annoying: Sharon's latest nonsense with Dylan. As profoundly obnoxious as Nick can be I am tired of Sharon doing crazy shît and then acting like she has to be instantly forgiven and getting pissed when she isn't. I like Sharon Case, I want to like Sharon again but if they want to make her stop doing nutty stuff then just stop. It's that simple. She was a lot better off a couple weeks when she was talking sense to Mariah re: her feud with Hillary. The sudden impulse re: Dylan came out of nowhere.

It's pretty exciting so far. I'm happy they're taking their time with it. It's really building a relationship versus just dumping it onscreen because they said so.

Exactly. This is one complaint I really am not getting. Just because Fenmore's is having trouble doesn't mean only Lauren is (or should be allowed) to play a part in it. She's not getting sidelined because Jack and Gloria are brought into it. It's still her story.

I wish they'd stop going back to that well. I mean, I understand why. Once you start down that path, it's too easy, and the temptation is strong. But they just need to stop with that.

While I think they could've eased up in late December, I don't think the show is writing Hilary as always in the wrong. Sharon herself told Mariah she made the wrong play, and that scene was there for a reason. They were both wrong in different ways.

Meanwhile everyone on canvas treated Hilary like sh!t and talked down to her. Even her kidnapper. With everyone but Sharon telling Mariah that she wasn't wrong or her bad behavior was great for the foundation.  Mariah has had no consequences while Hilary is going to lose it all.  If you can't see the difference in how these women and their behaviors were handled then I don't know what to tell you.

Whether Hilary is living under a bridge next week or not doesn't change the past writing. Nor does it change that the show "made" Mariah by shitting on Hilary...and it was heavy handed. And intentional. Mariah admitted her fault with everyone but sharon coddling her while in the same breath blaming hilary and calling her evil. These are facts!

We haven't seen the story unfold yet, so we don't know if Mariah well face any consequences.  If Hillary loses everything, it's Hillary's own fault for all of the deception she pulled on Devon. Hillary is a scrappy, strong character. If she loses everything today, she'll rise to the occasion and find new success. If she doesn't lose everything, she still has a lot of making things up to Devon for all of her manipulations. We can't automatically assume based on the past.

Yea, I think that's accurate as to what has been written and on-screen.  As of right now, Hil has had to face consequences for what she's done and Mariah has not.  That's not to say that she won't, or Hilary loses everything, it's simply how the story has been written up until today.
