I'd rather Jack say like...How dare Lauren hire Phyliss. Doesn't she know how much I loathe her for sleeping with Billy? Then he finds out about Lauren's company struggling and then decides to teach both a lesson?? This having to do more with Phyliss than the actual takeover.  I guess this is what turns Lauren into the dark side once again....Jack taking her company away from her.

They are building it up for sweeps. It's all they've got.

True. I know that. But I also see how it's still going to end. And in the preview for Friday

Neil is seen telling Hillary that she won't get away with what she did, so ... what Hillary did was lead Devon in the lie by insisting she was waiting for him all night. It was stated by Stitch not to upset Devon with anything, and I said I didn't expect Hillary to tell him right there, but she's still lying to him, and didn't help her case on Thursday's episode, so she's being set up to fall on her face yet again.

I get the feeling that Jack will be the sacrificial lamb so that Sally can take this show back to being female centric. He won't be succesful. And even if he is, Lauren and phyllis will get Lauren's company back.

yes, the big fall will be sweeps. Devon will find out and dump her after she's nursed him back to health and been the model wife. I expect to see her change in how she deals with people. I wouldn't be shocked if she and mariah come to a mutual understanding of respect. Everything will be perfect then devon's memory comes back. By that time, fans will hopefully be rooting for her instead of against her. That's the story I see playing out. It's not a bad story imo.

See there should have been dialogue with Jack and Lauren about her giving Phyliss a job and Lauren telling him that he needed to move on which infuriated Jack....

I'm pretty sure Jack's motivation is making Billy pay. It's not personal against Lauren.

I guess that's what we are suppose to guess. Ashley brought it up( I think twice already) but Jack gave no answer why he wanted to take over Lauren's company.

I don't mind Stitch as "doctor at hospital", but I'd like to see them rotate him with Barton Shelby.

I also wish we could get more Angell Conwell as Leslie. Wasn't she friendly with Michael Baldwin?

It wouldn't be. I hope that's how it plays out.

I still don't really mind Ravi, lol. It's a bit stereotypical.

I like Ravi quite a bit & was a fan of the actor before he turned up on Y&R.

I just don't like the styling for the character.

Since this story is somewhat reminiscent of Jill & Sean I'd much have preferred if Y&R dressed Ravi like Chris Douglas Sean where he looked stylish & sexy instead of looking like he makes his living recycling aluminum cans he finds on the beach.

Having read synopsis for US Thursday, I'm VERY disappointed this team would even touch that tired soap cliche for Hevon. Even if it only lasts two days, it's lazy and unimaginative.

Business! Power is a motive and it's more interesting than anything that's happened on this show in years.

I don't buy that. At all.

Jack & Ashley know first hand what it's like to lose a company (it literally almost destroyed their family) & how much more it stings when that kind of betrayal comes via someone who intimately knows your family.

It took Jack 10 years & an INSANE amount of scheming to have even the SLIGHTEST chance of regaining Jabot & the minute Ashley learned what Jack was planning she did everything in her power to assist him (despite usually disagreeing with his business dealings).

So no. I can't see them doing something like this, especially to a friend.

Yep. That's how I feel about it too.

Why does he need a motive beyond business is business, though? A lot of these characters (and others all over on soaps) were raiding each other on principle when Donald Trump was still on his first wife.

The Abbotts tradmark has always been that family is everything. Jack has screwed Ashley over several times for power but it was solely about their respective positions within the company. Beyond that the Abbotts have always maintained their business integrity where family & friends were involved.

If this were Victor doing the takeover I'd have no problem with it because Victor has no problem playing dirty in business with anyone (friends & family included).

And as I've said before, if this were just Jabot & Fenmore's competing in business with Jabot fighting dirty? That's a very in character story I can easily believe.
