Who came up with the idea to have Jeffrey Vincent Parise return to GH as Carlos’ twin, Dr. Joe Rivera?

FRANK:  That was me.  I asked the writers to do it, because I thought it was something that could be really fun, and another little surprise.  When you have actors that you love so much you try to find ways to use them.

 

I'm so glad he managed to do this even though it was so hard for him (who cares about viewers...):

 

You brought fan favorite Michael Easton back to General Hospital as Dr. Hamilton Finn.  What are your thoughts on how his new incarnation is working out within the framework of the show, and with the audience?

FRANK:  It’s great!  I think we took a big risk, but it was something we felt very strongly about doing.  Michael is a personal friend of mine.  So it was very challenging for me, and I wanted to make sure I gave him something that was worthy of his talents, and also something that was different than any and all of the characters he has ever played on daytime.  I think he is doing a masterful job.

Funny, cause its rumored that he's about to fire both.  

Where are those rumors? DC posted some rumors back in May. There contracts were renewed. Ratings were very consistent they stopped the bleeding and had gains.

Two actors who should no longer be on the show. Frank should not be allowed to dictate story lines. His hiring of ME reminds me of FMB hiring Susan Batten as Connor on ATWT because they were friends. Neither actor adds nothing to the canvas but boredom. Frank is writing/producing the GH he wants to see and not what the audience wants…reminds me of Goutman in his final years as EP of ATWT.

K soapsuds thats a weird comparison. You are talking about Susan Batten who was horribly miscast on ATWT. ME has been great. Jean P is writing classic soap with a modern twist. Now ATWT was a goner plus CBS didnt own it. ABC owns GH its the highest rated show for daytime its yeilding a profit. All good Soapsuds u should be thanking Jean and Shelly they are doing what nobody is doing on TV. Bring smart back to TV giving us a deep and affecting experience.

And the whole Carlos being a twin and being a little surprise has got to be the biggest WTF statement by Frank Valentini….who was actually surprised or excited about it? Anybody? ……Silence….

OK when Susan was on ATWT that was 13 years before it got cancelled

What is so modern about the writing on GH? If your talking Kristina's love life, Queer as Folk did that and way better 16 years ago

Oh and as far as ABC owning, GH they also owned AMC & OLTL (which was getting great numbers) & thise shows were axed. Trust me, Its WHEN ABC can find something to replace GH, not IF

I get "Brian Frons" vibes from Valentini. He may not be as big a !@#$%^&*] as Frons, but it sure seems like what he dictates happens. No EP should be able to do that with storylines

Wash Rinse Repeat... Valentini, Varni, Altman and Pissy all need to go and take the unwelcome cast members with them. 

So glad he found room for his friend and now Joe looks like "Crusty Azz Carrrrrrrlllllooooossssssssssssss" with the messy facial hair.]
