More likely, when DAYS fired Cosgrove the first time, they had no idea of the level of affection that many fans held for him and for Aiden's relationship with Hope.  However, when they tried to rectify their error -- by bringing back Cosgrove, by resetting the button on Aiden's last days, etc. -- TPTB realized they had already reached the metaphorical point of no return with Aiden and Hope and that bringing him back made no difference in the end.  (That, and Dena/Josh/Ken/whoever wanted Hope/Rafe so badly that they refused to redeem Aiden even after going to the trouble of bringing him back from the dead.)

I'd tend to bet more on the latter, as even with going too far, Aiden and Hope are still a more compelling couple than Hope/Rafe.

If only this could be Michael Easton.

Ive never gotten the appeal with Michael Easton. He is fugly and is one awful actor too with his nostrils flaring.
