February 17, 201610 yr Member I'm dreading the acting from Ciara. Yeah, there is no way in hell anyone who has watched that girl for at least 30 seconds should put this kind of meat in her hands. Very bad decision! Rape on soaps is a staple, but Days should have waited because there's already too much doom and gloom!
February 17, 201610 yr Author Member At this point I'm giving the Plan to Save DAYS til May. Corday's solution: Rehire Gary Tomlin. Edited February 17, 201610 yr by Vee

February 17, 201610 yr Author Member On top of that, am I crazy or did that flashback make it look Steve almost raped Ava? DAYS is back y'all!
February 17, 201610 yr Member I don't even know how they got there writing in a vacuum, unless the writing changed hands - who recasts Chase and goes through all that to establish him in the family, then a couple months later has him rape his adopted sister? Jesus, it's so disgusting. And so DAYS. The way they turn on a dime has always been terrible, but in this last year it's become just vicious and cruel. They probably thought it would be a good shock for viewers. Of course after Ejami they may not even see this rape as a bad thing...
February 17, 201610 yr Days is unbearable to watch this is the worse reboot ever. Crystal Meth Philip, Basic Beyotch Belle, A flaming deformed Andre, Patch obsessed Ava are all dead weight. I really hope Chase doesn't rape Ciara. It serves no purpose besides destroying a decent likable character. There's no balance on Days no humor or romance only gloom and doom.
February 17, 201610 yr Author Member When and how did Shawn join law enforcement? Was Jason Cook's Shawn supposed to be a cop? I don't even believe Brandon Beemer's Shawn can read. It was time to put Stefano out to pasture but killing him off with zero fanfare at the hands of Hope and attempting to replace him with Thaao Penghlis in his 85th return was not the way to go. Nobody takes Andre seriously at this point. It's just laughable. Edited February 17, 201610 yr by Vee

February 17, 201610 yr Member screaming a bit @ all the 'wasting all this time to establish him' and him being anything but a throw character anyway, tbh. I mean he's been shown as a pretty unstable, messy guy w/ a crush on his sister. And there has been no REAL focus placed on him as an individual - not in the same way w/ JJ, or even Joe (to a lesser extent) I can KIND OF buy this, but I still needed a bit more ground work laid. that said... this is the world we live in, and pretty true to life. Rape isn't just something that happens to 'slutty' characters that 'should have known better' and rapists do not always have BAD GUY! written across their forehead. When and how did Shawn join law enforcement? Was Jason Cook's Shawn supposed to be a cop? I don't even believe Brandon Beemer's Shawn can read. I think it happened during Beemer's last stint on the show. 2007? lmao, really? Because when Cook returned he looked a straight up hobo. Edited February 17, 201610 yr by dio
February 17, 201610 yr Author Member Yeah, we all know about rape, that doesn't make this story necessary. Rape is a constant, insidious part of daytime that needs a break, and it doesn't need to keep being trotted out for shock value and shitty stories. This isn't even in the same galaxy as Josh Griffith's rape story on OLTL in the '90s, and it's sad he's rehashing it. He should know how tired it is by now. It's typical of DAYS that one of the strongest of the new youth hires is the adopted orphan kid they pigeonhole as 'bad' because his father also turned bad overnight. It fits their provincial, simplistic black/white morality that has been a part of the show for decades. Edited February 17, 201610 yr by Vee

February 17, 201610 yr Member The new Chase was one of the few additions I liked. It was also a really positive story of Hope adopting a child even when they weren't blood family, as opposed to disposing of the kid like so many other soaps would do in a similar situation. I can't believe they did this, it's just vile. Well, I can because it's DAYS and they operate on super-simplistic, cartoonish and puritanical Reilly Rules: Bad People are Evil and the fruit never falls far. I agree with every word of this. I'm so disappointed. This is what I get for wishing for adoption/foster child stories on soaps. Damn. I don't think it's been done right since Neil and Dru adopted Devon.
