February 8, 201610 yr Member Apparently the DAYS writers still have material until September 2016 http://daytimeconfidential.com/2016/02/08/days-writers-told-to-stop-writing-until-deal-is-reached
February 8, 201610 yr Member LMAO. Still ridiculous that they've written so far ahead. It's good that they're forced to stop. If the negotiations take long enough, maybe we'll FINALLY cut down on that insane gap between tapped and airing shows. That being said, I suspect, if renewed, the show's budget will be slashed even further. It's going to be REALLY interesting to watch characters share clothes and lose Marlena and other old people to pay for the rest of the cast. Edited February 8, 201610 yr by YRBB
February 8, 201610 yr Member I wish they'd stop writing altogether and hire someone cheaper, who actually loves the genre but I digress....
February 8, 201610 yr Member Yes. Take a break til August 1st. Everyone should go on hiatus. In the meantime, balance the budget, hire some new writers, get rid of the dead weight (didn't they just do that for the 50th? These fools never learn) and come back refreshed and only 1-2 months ahead of schedule instead of 6-7.
February 8, 201610 yr Member This makes me nervous. Hopefully this is just a case of executives playing hardball when it comes to budget

They ain't gonna even have the budget for Peapack if they even cut it even more. They'll have to shoot DAYS in an alley at this rate.
February 9, 201610 yr Member They're almost a year in advance in writing now! That's the show' biggest problem right there. This makes me nervous. They seem to be working their way to the back lot behind the studio. They already are filming in the hallways!
February 9, 201610 yr Member All I can say is they had better have written a proper finale episode if DAYS goes down in these negotiations.
February 9, 201610 yr Member maybe this will allow them to start writing only 6 weeks in advance??.......
February 9, 201610 yr Author Member UPDATE: NBC wants Days to go back to their old production schedule http://daytimeconfidential.com/2016/02/09/source-nbc-wants-days-to-go-back-to-old-production-model
February 9, 201610 yr Member Hallelujah! We've all been bitching about it for years now. It's just ridiculous to be 6-7 months ahead.
