Last week, the news broke that Ron Carlivati has been let-go by ABC the head writer of General Hospital. You took to Twitter with a very nice tweet and thank you to Ron. What are your thoughts on Rons departure and his contributions to GH?

LAURA: The Ron and Frank (Valentini) team saved General Hospital, period. Ron came in and made changes that needed to be done. He brought back core characters that had not been seen forever that the audience just loved. The first characters that pop into my head are Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) especially Lucy with the Nurses Ball. Frank is definitely a huge part of that as well, and I am not taking anything away from Frank, who is still there and tirelessly working for us. I love Ron. I love him personally, and there is nothing more fun that sitting next to Ron at the Daytime Emmys! (Laughs) I adore him, and his writing, and his talent, and its all there. I wish him the best. Ron is so talented, and so I am just calling this a nice break for him, because I am sure Ron is going to kick ass somewhere else.

What do you think about the incoming co-head writing team of Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante? This time its two women who will be charged with the task of keeping things interesting and kicking in Port Charles.

LAURA: Im excited to see what happens. They have a job and they are writing General Hospital now, and so the reality is its already underway, and so bring it on! Lets see whats next. I have been doing daytime for 24 years. and when I was on Loving in my first 7 years there, I think we went through 4 head writers and 5 producers. Stuff like this happens, and you just keep going. I look at the change as a positive thing. I got to work under Ron for 3 years and his writing, and before that it was the legendary Bob Guza, and now its going to be two women, which is awesome. I just look it as experience, after experience, af

Laura Wrights take on the Ron Carlivati. It's clear they are close friends. She said Ron saved GH. I am excited about her excitement for Jelly.

Jonnysboro, what's your deal with a breast cancer storyline? We've seen it a thousand times on the soaps, yet you're pushing it as an example of your Smart TV crap.

I do not want a revamped GH to include a breast cancer story, or any other kind of cancer. Jelly didn't exactly wow me with their Michael Baldwin prostate cancer story on YR.

Break, schmake. Ron Carlivati needs to leave professional writing altogether and pursue another line of work.

He could sell glow-in-the-dark lubricants for all I care. Just keep him away from anything that has anything at all to do with writing. Including gay porn.

And please keep him away from people.

I'm sure he's made enough money to go back to idolizing and cyberstalking pictures of his idea of "celebrities" on his fancy apple laptop while collecting from the unemployment office.

    • I guess it depends on your device.  I can watch CW shows via their website on my Windows PC.
    • Ooooo A Liam episode? I'll watch it later today. They sure are churning the daily episodes out early.

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.

    • I enjoy BF better on Days than on YR.   Chad is greater than Cane, in my opinion.
    • Ick! Seeing MS and BF making out as the characters onscreen was just ewwww.
    • The SON board.
