Serena could be OK but they're making me hate her already by making Nicole the evil one in all of this. Serena should have been Sarah. Yes I will keep beating that dead horse but at least there'd be SOME feeling of connection to her and they wouldn't have had to force her onto the canvas as Melanie's BFF, Eric's ex ... sigh. She still could have been all of those things, too. I think she's ultimately for Daniel and that's why they didn't make her the obvious choice of Sarah.

Although I'd love part of her secret to be she IS Sarah but there's no way at this point. I don't buy she at least wouldn't be recognized by SOMEONE. Maggie's obnoxious about Daniel so I'm sure her BFF Marlena would have seen a picture. (And will we ever see them interact again?)

I think they are doing the opposite. Its as if Serena was brought on to prop Nicole bc Serena is coming across as the "evil" one. We know she has this secret and its appearing to be nefarious. She's being written as this nice on the outside but raging bitch on the inside. Im no Nicole fan anymore but Serena is coming across worse in my eyes

I think SC is still attractive. Loved him as Mike on ATWT. Hate him as Daniel. The character sucks, the writing for him sucks, and several strong Salem women have been thrown under the bus for him or in terrible stories with him.

Jennifer, Maggie, Carly, Chloe, Nicole, hell even Melanie. I'm certain I have forgotten some.

Tomlin can't come up with compelling story for Marlena, Hope, Lucas, Kayla, Rory, T, Bo (actors he has or could have access to that the audience enjoys), but he has kept Daniel frontburner both times he was in power at the show.

I can't with this new Kiriakis mansion set. So they downsize that and the D mansion, yet we get a school set for Paige and JJ. I'm sure it's just another set redone but still.

Good to see Bev again. I can't believe they showed us all those JJ/Paige flashbacks.

Lord, this drama with Jordan is an absolute snooze. I wish Clyde would just kill her. Thank god Kate and Anne were involved in the scenes today because otherwise I was falling asleep.

I guess I can appreciate the (relative) diversity of sets we're getting now -- the park/bench scenes have been cut down quite a bit since they downsized both mansions -- but also, ugh. It makes me so sad/angry to lose those sets.

OMG. Y'all are hilarious with the shade towards Daniel/Nicole.

But seriously, Daniel and his spawn {Melanie} need to go. I feel like Tomlin needs to get the wakeup call that Daniel is like a square peg trying to fit into a circle; it just won't fit. Daniel does not fit with this show. Nothing turns me off more to a show than a character that an adamant writer or producer is trying to force feed on us.

Daniel and Melanie are like ATWT's Janet & Liberty. Two characters that were spread all over the canvas and still didn't mesh well. The Ciccones nailed the final nail in ATWT for me and the Jonas clan is doing it for me on DAYS. Just make it stop. Enough already. If they wanted Shawn Christian to be of importance they should've cast him as Mike [Horton] or Scotty [banning] from the start. At least then we'd somewhat care.

Shawn Christian is just skeevy and creepy and like some porno equivalent of a leading man. I've never liked him, aside from some of his work with Maura West on ATWT. I always thought I was in the minority, so I was surprised when I went back and read soap magazines from that era and they generally weren't that impressed for a lot of his run either.

I'm thrilled he was never cast as Mike. Mike was a longtime character who remained vital through several very different actors. The thought of him returning just to grope Chloe through her hospital gown is saddening.

Scotty might have been an OK choice, especially if they had Julie yell at him to zip it up and go take a bath.
