I second this! I do think he would've made a great Lucky and ate out Liz's coochie by now (Girl needs some loving from her LUCKY, he knew her flavoring all throughout their childhood and how she liked it), but its good to see BM as Jason as trying something new.

But I do think he can add some energy to Jason's character, and sort of give him a new direction, give some long needed development to the character.

Now I'm a big Jason fan, loved SBu, but look SBu if your still on the notion "Oh the fans love Dylan, he's got such a great complex story (rip-off from Shawn's PTSD story just dragged on for a year to not notice) so I'll sign this contract" and sucking up to JFP's powdery expired tits! than Killer Miller, congrats on taking the role of Jason! Its win or lose in this business.

Billy Miller is a big soap name? I didn't even know who he was. All I see is another former soap star coming to GH while the former GH stars sit on the sidelines. I got sick of Jason (played by Steve Burton) about 10 years ago. Some "big name" Y&R actor playing Jason isn't going to make it any better for me. And to top it off, there are no decent storylines on this show. It's complete stunt casting that I'm not even interested in. Zzz.

Completely agree. I am a little tired of these Y&R rejects coming to GH. If I wanted to watch this crew I would have been watching Y&R all these years. As for Billy Miller, why would GH have to pay big for him? He left soaps two seconds ago and obviously failed to find whatever nibble he was looking for elsewhere, so here he is back on one of four remaining soaps. Y&R is closed to him since his role was recast and/or he does not want to work for the current producer, so where else was he going? Obviously the Bell crowd didn't pounce on him for B&B and that leaves DOOL. So really, how many options did Billy Miller have?

I am a little amazed DAYS has been so eager to get all the OLTL people. Gary Tomlin, it makes sense he'd hire Melissa Archer since he discovered her, but I was still surprised that whole team went for her - she's never been valued as much as she should be by the industry. KDP made a little more sense given her long history.

It's a complicated reaction. On the one hand I think Billy Miller is a talented actor and possibly incapable of playing the "old" Jason, the emotionless killer Steve Burton enjoyed. Hammy or not, he is too active a performer for it and at his best he can be very vibrant. So I think/hope they will finally reboot the Jason character - make him a mix of his Quartermaine past and his latter-day self and right the moral scales of the character a bit. That is the only way Jason can ever return and function on this show in a healthy way, no matter who he's played by. Jason Morgan is a dead zone and his extermination from the canvas was absolutely necessary. I also suspect he may have great chemistry with Kim McCullough. If they return him to the role of unrepentant mob enforcer and Sam's husband it will all be for naught.

OTOH, Miller is clearly not going to sign for too long without a score of outs. And in the end I think GH remains too focused on big 'gets' and big stunts vs. telling decent stories with their existing longtime cast. They're always dancing as fast as they can - look at what we did! Look at who we hired! Look at this twist! Look at this gag! The problem is with most of this these days there is no actual storytelling.

It also still doesn't excuse killing A.J.

The main problem with Miller is that he can't play the old Jason either, because he has anti-chemistry with pretty much every single person he shares the screen with. He's too self-involved an actor to be able to make emotional connections.

He'll be able to smirk, and jump around, like Howarth does, and a lot of fans, along with Jamey and friends, will say he blows Burton out of the water and this is the "real" Jason, and so forth.

But in terms of performance, or work with scene partners, or anything beyond smirking and yelling, he's SOL.

You may well be correct. I did like him on AMC, and I liked him at times on Y&R before he totally took over, so I will reserve judgment. After decades of Steve Burton's studied disinterest I am open to something new.

Perhaps GH should just do away with scenery altogether. That way, the budget stays down, and so do Howarth, Stafford, and Miller's weight.

Only diehard Billy/Victoria fans see BM as a ratings draw. To most everyone else, he's just another marginal-at-best performer who's only back here in soaps because he either won't commit fully to testing the primetime waters or he did but learned quick how dime-a-dozen he was in that part of the industry.

Well, I like him and want to see what he brings to the table.

And how ugly he will surely be dressed...or undressed.

As far as I know Stafford did not affect ratings one way or another beyond her debut. If they had 2.1 and 2.2 episodes before her, they have them after her. He will be no different. I can't even think which Y&R star could juice up ratings, maybe VR, maybe if Victor the character crossed over to GH to do battle with Sonny. After that I don't see any of them doing anything for ratings that anonymous soap actor number three couldn't do.
