I wish the writer wrote in for Neil. I don't feel like I am a whole man. Devon be there for Hilary anyway you can.

This way Neil can't be mad if they hook up, when he starts to see again.

That would be almost like what happened among Bill, Brooke and Katie on B&B.

This really is not out of the realm of possibility at this point. I can see a scenario where Neil asks Devon to take Hilary places that he can't or won't so that she can get out of the house. Movies, dinner, dancing, ballet...you know, on dates.

I felt the same way about many of Jean Passanante's stories on ATWT. More often than not, it seemed, an already convoluted story would derail itself into total WTF-ery -- the climaxes for the first Adam story, the first Nuke vs. Colonel Mayer story and the Gwen/Cleo story come to mind -- as if either she or her EP had recognized that yet another one of her stories was going nowhere and this (ramping up the pace, skipping over beats, falling back on, as you say, old soap tropes (I still can't believe they actually tied Gwen to those railroad tracks!), throwing character turns and sudden revelations at us literally from out of nowhere, etc.) was their way to finish off everything as quickly and effectively as possible.

Don't even remind me. I dropped in and out of the last decade of ATWT because some of those stories were not worth the time and effort for me. I was in school too, so I had ample excuse to stop watching for months at a time.

With the way JP likes to 'borrow' old ATWT storylines, I suspect that Victoria will somehow end up tied to railroad tracks.

Y&R has been ABCD-ified and I am both confused and saddened by the fact. And I say that as one who was a fan of many ABCD soaps.

Jesus Christ, we get it. Neil is blind. You don't need to hammer home that point at every damn turn.

Oh, what? WHAT? Jack had the chance to know a juicy secret and after psyching us out before the break, he gets a sudden spurt of conscience and adds the letter to the rest? Dammit, Aunt Jackie, what the fick happened to you!?

Terry Lester's Jack sure as hell would've read that paper! Jack should have snapped a picture with his cell phone camera at least. I too thought...'What the what! Who is this man?!'

That would be so good. Maybe once he gets his sight back he'll pretend he's still blind to keep Hilary. It's hard to see Neil doing something like that, but it could be so fun.

I was thinking that's the only way to make this triangle the least bit interesting. Regardless, we know Neil will end up with a new lady love five minutes after he breaks up with Hillary (maybe even 5 minutes before) because that's all they make Neil do these days.

Whoever said the conclusion of the Music Box story was a big Dud, boy were they ever speaking truth to power! I suspected that it wouldn't turn out to much but even this fell beneath my low expectations. What foolishness!

I don't think KSJ ask for this, The writers think this is what we want. They are way too lazy to write for the black characters.

I am convinced they did this story because they wanted to try Neil and Hilary on the odd chance that they took off before they went all out with Hevon. KSJ is the lead and they wanted to give him the opportunity. That is all.

Super happy you asked. Should there be an obstacle? Absolutely! You have to keep it interesting, but here's my problem and I believe I've been pretty consistent. We have done this too many times with the Winters men, so I don't find this time around compelling! How long will they drag this out and make Neil look dumber than usual until no one cares?

YR already had Hill's crush on Jack and the gorgeous Esme as angst. Devon has 2 billion+ dollars and Neil has been an officer at 2 "Fortune 500" companies. To get back at Jack, build a company to rival Jabot with his father with Hill right in the middle working for Jack as Devon continues to seethe. Then, let gold digging Esme lie about being pregnant [Devon did have sex with her] to keep the young lovers apart. This crap with Neil? Been there done that too many times for me to care.

This would have been the very story that majority of viewers could have gotten behind and enjoyed. I don't think anyone would begrudge Neil owning a company nor competing with Jack and Victor. But for some reason, this is against the ground rules of the show.

I will NEVER believe there was any desire to make sure a black character/actor had any opportunity, especially when the network still caters to old bigots long past the key demo! This was so that Hevon didn't take off, but they did anyhow. A young black successful pairing on a CBS? Hell no, so before we give them Hevon, let's soil her with Neil first. Half the fans will lose interest by the time they get together! TRUST!

Jean is promising us a big Ashley storyline business modern day Audrey Hepburn style story. Jean wrote a lot for Colleen Zenk on ATWT. She sounds very excited about her big story for Ashley I mean she can't do any worse then what MAB did to her.

What get me mad about Y&R, why Neil had to sell his bar or whatever it is but the Newman can branch out to do other ventures.

They already running the perfume line or whatever they do at NE.

If true, this is truly sad! Then that would mean, the enduring quality of couples like Angie & Jessie has no impact on the bigwigs at SONY/Y&R/CBS.

I've always suspected that, of the shows remaining, Y&R definitely is the most conservative but it's ridiculous how their bias is getting in the way of writing a good show.

I can't see that. Only because if they were dead set against a young successful black pairing then they would have never put Hevon in each other's orbits. And definitely wouldn't have continued it when they saw the popularity growing. They seem to be invested in Hevon and, moreso, Hilary as a young heroine. She is getting that "all about Eve" writing that Chelsea received.

This is such an optimist way of looking at it. I wish I could still think that way.

So are you saying that they aren't catering to bigots but they are bigots themselves?

Yes but when a potential young black pairing gets more buzz than their white counterparts? You think CBS is going to stand for that? The story was going fine w/out Neil and it didn't just limit Hevon to the "black story".

Lord this show is bad day after day! I haven't yet watched Wednesday episode, but even writers Slater and Esser couldn't save this drivel. Katherine's memorial redux is as bad as last year's original by Griffith. And all the actors are getting worse as they perform this material. Sharon Case on the phone ordering Ian not to hurt Mariah...bad, bad acting. Josh Morrow is worse than ever.

And it was downright offensive to have Nikki return to the bottle just after reading Katherine's letter; what a dishonor to have her drink when Katherine and she helped one other over their respective addictions.

The show is tacky, cheap and uninspired. Yes, very much like GL at the end.
