I'm intrigued by what's the story behind the pills Andre is taking but the most interesting part about him was during that scene with Cookie when he hugged her ... and got that look. I don't know why, but it was very reminiscent of something J.R. Ewing would do. In that moment, I saw A LOT of potential for him being the J.R.-type character for this show, if they play it right. I really want to see him scheming and manipulating to get what he wants. Since we're all making these comparisons (Cookie is Alexis! Jamal is Steven!) one can say even his wife=Sue Ellen! lol

Do we have to stick to comparisons with just one soap?

In all seriousness, I disagree that Andre feels like Adam. Adam was an outsider who missed out on all the wealth and privilege the rest of his condescending, unaccepting siblings had. He also barely had his father's acceptance or cooperation. Andre is a different beast: The oldest brother with his life seemingly figured out, business acumen and a strong belief that he ought to be his father's son and heir, even if he has yet to have his approval. Now who does that sound like? :P

I love the show, I'm glad I watch it, I stop watching things that was on Fox. Too bad Platinum didn't last, we could have two black musical show on air. I like the whole cast, Hope to see some of my favorite rappers & singers on there.

I still don't see why Jamal & Hakeem going to be in competition with each other, one is a rapper the another one is a singer.

I think the father( Can't spell his name) going to spend more time around Cookie once he's inform that she been talking to the feds. Then that leaves his girlfriend getting jealous.

I still think its surreal that they are doing a tv show together on network tv. I know she has a career with tv but he especially is one I associate as primarily a film star. I wonder how long he will stick with it. The pilot already set him up to either go to jail or be killed off within 3 years due to disease

Speaking of which, I wish this wasnt on Fox. It should be on cable or better yet a premium channel like Showtime or HBO. I think the censorship will limit it as you just expect to hear cursing from a show like this

    • I know there was one brief scene in the summer of 1989 where Lillian did mention Calla.. but in relation to her past relationship to Ross and it was to Roger while he was a patient at Cedars.  I think he was trying to pump her for information on Ross.. and for some reason, Calla's name came up.   I could see perhaps Beth mentioning that her mother Lillian was visiting Calla.. but not exactly giving any sort of details as to the going ons in Calla's life off screen.

    • They're neither great nor terrible AFAIK, but it is more a question of the streaming numbers in this day and age vs. actual TV airings. The Chibnall era reminded me much more of the crisis years, but I do think it's a very real possibility now as well due to the streaming bubble collapse affecting the show and its prospects.
    • ANYTHING to get her off the screen..she COULD have been interesting if she and Van had a few face offs..(there was a mild one of her going back to work...but I wanted something meatier "Bitch, I am Vanessa Chamberlain and I don't take advice from someone who followed the..career path you did!" I did like Alex's outright disdain for her.
    • Thanks @Vee for the commentary.    I haven’t even watched this season yet after  I couldn’t get past the couple episodes last season…like it was too Disneyified for my taste, although I did think it was a least better than the Chibnall era (but so is a lot of things). I’ll probably go back and binge it now. Hoping this season ends on a high note. I did read the ratings are terrible. As it stands I’m beginning to feel like what long time DW fans felt with S26 in 1989.
    • Yes, they are all on contract. Next.
    • I also never understood Alex's friendship with Sonni or keeping the secret of Marah's paternity.  Not exactly heartbroken about Ms. Sally being ushered to the Hereafter.

I'm sorry but I'm a glutton for punishment. Would love to see this woman OWNING the canvas. Telling off Leslie who tells her she's the head b!tch.
    • And in case anyone is confused; Rusty was hired by HB to work undercover and infiltrate some gang sabotaging Lewis.
