I think Brooke has a worse reputation than she actually deserves. She has made some horrible choices in men (Deacon and Bill), but she has never been as promiscuous as her reputation might lead people to believe. I would even go as far as to say that she is not promiscuous at all.

If Brooke was a man, this wouldn't even be an issue. (The family stuff has always been weird. However, I think that's a matter of B&B being a 30-minute show, which doesn't allow for a lot of "non-core" characters being on the canvas at one time.) Also, noted, with only a couple of exceptions (Deacon and Pose-Pose, which she thought was Ridge), Brooke sexual encounters have been in the context of relationships. It's not like we see Brooke hanging out at "cougar bars," just picking up random men or even purposely targeting attached men and trying to take them away from others for the sake of sport. The Brooke character has always been an enigma. She is supposedly very smart (chemist, has a college degree - a rarity in soaps, worked very hard to get where she is), is a warm-hearted person, yet the writers have constantly dumbed her down.

The last time I watched, I felt it was worse than GH, and that says a lot!

The show is visually stunning. The exteriors are wonderful and the shots are to die for. The characters, however, are rancid and the "stories" are abysmal. The musical bedmates is cringe worthy.

    • Poor Philip. I appreciate how seriously his and Xander’s scenes were taken though. It felt like real drama and not like a big joke. You could actually feel Xander’s pain and anger. It adds another dynamic to the Kiriakis family storylines and I’m looking forward to the effects that this is going to have across the canvas. I can see them weaving Kate and Roman into this storyline as well. And it would be really nice if this somehow helped cause conflict for Stephanie/Alex too, especially because of what Alex did today. With any luck, Stephanie will be furious about it.  And I’m glad that Sarah has Maggie to confide in about her secret. I also liked seeing Steve and Shawn (and their matching jackets

) continue to be on the case. Kevin, revealing everything to them is another interesting turn in this storyline. Plus, it seems the writing has improved for Shawn as well.
    • TBF, I don't think we've seen her interact enough with the "have-nots" to know if she is or isn't. It's possible, but I don't think you can say that from her interactions with Eva and Silkpress.
    • You're right - though I did confuse his name with an actual actor who was on Dynasty.

    • "Might" is not "is". And I was talking about the specific case about her attitude to Eva.
    • But she can still be a priveliged elitist. She might have the same attitude to anyone from 'the wrong side of the tracks' whether they had an agenda or not. Nicole seems to be an outlier in her family. Her parents, kids and sister seem to think themselves above reproach.
    • Damian's clothes have definitely been a specific look -kinda reads 70's pimp to me . I guess it's a trend?? but it seems more suited to Holden. JR is 51  and I guess Damian is supposed to be a little younger but it looks a little odd on him in my book. But at least they're trying. The men's clothing has been bland/generic for years-either suits or basic casual stuff interchangeable  b/w them.
