June 23, 201312 yr Author Member In one of Agnes' interviews she said Irna placed her at GL as a challenge and a bit of a punishment. The impression I got was that Irna was very happy to have only one successful soap at a time, and did not worry about the fate of her other 'children'. (Was GL the first red-headed step-child?) Punishment!! For What? Also, I have gotten the impression Agnes was the same way with Loving for a while. Meaning she stopped caring about AMC then went back to it.

I was too young to see Loving, but what went wrong with that soap, I mean it was created by two awesome writers
June 26, 201312 yr Member It really would be a treat to read it. All I know is that she wrote it in 1965 (while on vacation in St. Croix).
June 27, 201312 yr Member Back around 2006, I was going for my MFA in creative writing at Rosemont College. As you may know, Agnes Nixon lives in Rosemont, PA, which is where the college is located. I mentioned to the administrators and faculty about Agnes living in town and suggested that they reach out to her to get her to come to campus to speak about her career and her soap creations. They loved the idea but then did nothing to pursue it. It was such a wasted opportunity.
June 27, 201312 yr Member Does she ever answer questions on her website/blog? I mean, at least semi-regularly?
July 11, 201312 yr Member I do know that when Rachel and Ada first appeared on Another World, they were from the South and spoke with Southern accents for a while. Sam, the brother of Ada, did not. I think that Ada may have been based on someone that Ms. Nixon remembered from Nashville.
