I just adore JJ and his side-kick! I loved the Eddie Haskel reference from Maggie.. which means Maggie knows JJ's friend was spewing BS LOL.. and JJ didn't catch the reference :)

It is like JJ is the audience's mouthpiece.. stating that if Daniel left, then Jennifer/Abby/JJ would still be there.. .her 'real' family! I think that's a cheap shot at Mcpherson's story idea about making Daniel related to Maggie LOL

Cheap I said TEAM JJ out loud after Daniel said he would never see Parker again! That was disgusting that Jennifer chose some d-ck over her own flesh and blood. Waiting for JJ to do something really f-cked up to Daniel like setting up a patient to seduce him and get him arrested for sexual assault. :P

John still having "feelings" for Kristen is ridiculous. Some people say the show is "character driven" but clearly it's not.

Sami shooting Stefano's henchman was surprising but she didn't have to shoot him. What about just yelling, "Stop!" next time. LOL I wondered how the gun would come in play and I like this turn in the story.

I could watch Marlena slapping John's loser ass all day long. What a number Tomlin did on John with this storyling. Wow. The character is just so pathetic. Tomlin really comes across as detesting the older men on this show, or just not knowing/caring what to do with them (Tony/Steve/Jack/Bo/John). All of those men basically abandoned their wives under Tomlin. And he also seems to hate/not care (or even bother with) Lucas. Strange.

Janet I.'s scripts have always been pretty hit or miss for me.

John having feelings for Kristen is far more plotty than character, but also not totally out of the question. He has defended her from her return on, and i dont find it unbelievable that he had some underlining feelings for her and jealousy of her being with Brady, then add in the strain on his relationship with Marlena. I dont buy that he is in love with her, but some lingering feelings sure. Even if it is strictly plot and you find it 100% unbelievable, it doesnt make the entire show not character driven - but i would say its more character driven plot, thank god, because character driven usually is nothing and boring. Plus I do think there was some BTS stuff going on here that you can read about in the spoiler section.

If she just yelled stop whats to stop him from hurting her too? Tho really, a shot in the leg or something would have got the job done I would think. Shes a good aim as we learned before lol.

I agree that John having unresolved feelings for Kristen wouldn't be totally out of character (though I couldn't see him still IN love with her) ... if it were just explained and explored and we got more than a few times of Kristen "showing him she's changed". All we're getting is total plot. And it's not a very good plot at that. Kristen's the only one who's really being examined as a character, although Marlena's finally emerging from the shadows to be written for again.

I know J&M purists won't hear any of it, but the signs are there that he had "feelings" for her. Frankly, if you can get it up for a person, there are some feelings there. To be utter repulsed by somebody but still physically attracted to them is not uncommon. What should he have said to Marlena? It was just sex? Think that would have gone down even worse.

When Kristen returned to Salem, it was John who wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt - He only decided she was "evil and crazy" when he caught her with Brady, a sign of a bruised ego more likely. The subtext was there all along. It's just Drake is such a lousy actor, he never played any of it.

Jennifer's first instinct was to protect JJ. She said, "Daniel, take your hands off my son. What are you doing?" Then when she found out what had happened, I agree she did take Daniel's side too much for a bit while JJ was there, but I think it was so JJ would know the seriousness of what had happened. Then she defended JJ's intentions to Daniel and said JJ would never want to hurt Parker, but Daniel didn't buy it. Then when she went home, she reiterated the seriousness to JJ but also believed him about Parker.

Also, Abigail took responsibility too and didn't let it all fall on JJ when Daniel and Jennifer were attacking him. Then when Abigail was home privately with JJ, she was more stern with him.

The reactions were layered and not one-note, which is as it should be.

I thought Jennifer already suspected JJ had trashed Daniel's car. She'd heard from Maggie that JJ was in the hospital parking lot. So that seemed like a continuity goof-up when she was so shocked when Daniel suggested it.

I liked Daniel and Brady meeting up after all this. I hope "the 4" can still be friends a few months from now, even if Brady and Kristen are done (which I am still hoping is not the case).

Not impressed with the Sami, Bernardi, and Rafe stuff. Too campy now that I know what "cut it off" was supposed to refer to. (That was sooo confusing, I can't be the only one who didn't get it.) Pretty much cinches that video Chad keeps talking about is of Sami chasing Bernardi though.

Liked Kristen trying to talk to Eric, as well as her confrontation with Sami. Yeah, Sami ignored EJ's admonition to go easy on Kristen, LOL.

Sami was saying she didn't want her kids in the same roof as Kristen meaning Kristen should move out, but I do wonder when Lucas is going to speak up again about not wanting his daughter in the DiMera mansion. There's no longer the reason of being there to get Stefano to help Will.

John and Marlena were alright. I liked the tears and the emotion. I think Deidre Hall's performance was Emmy-worthy. I like that John was honest about the part of him that might still have feelings for Kristen, that made him consider his plan, even if it's not what Marlena wanted to hear. Honesty is an important step.

I have only been watching for a few months so I won't comment on whether it is in-character that John could still have any feelings for Kristen. But it still comes from a character-based place for this to be the conflict between John and Marlena -- feelings, relationships, guilt from John's on-screen past, affecting his family. It can be bad character-based writing if you think it is out of character but it is still meant to come from the character; in contrast, a plot-based story would be more external. It would be something like an explosion knocks John unconscious and he has amnesia so he falls in love with a random new character. Or Marlena is kidnapped by a drug cartel and John has to find her. That's plot, without origins in the character involved.
