What are some moments in the world of soaps that define what soaps should be!!

This could either be clips from episodes or events. Here are some of mine!!

This to me is the best interview EVER on soaps. Simple yet very inteligent and in-depth. I wish these people were still with us and/or still able!! Does anyone know what happened to Bryna Laub??

I would like for people here to share some of there favorite moments of daytime that really makes daytime, daytime. Although I said clips, articles and photos could be good too!!

What makes soaps. Melodrama. But more than that. The reason I was drawn to Bell's soaps especially was the psychology. Scenes like these. Characters trying to discover motivation and push agendas. A heightened sense of reality. In this scene Bell got so deep inside Stephanie's inner thoughts so blatantly in a way I never really saw again.

I am also reminded of the scenes between Karen Wolek and Viki Lord. Viki was not ready for what she got from Karen in this conversation. Such a great scene. Both start with small talk and end in confessions and revelations. Both scenes tease out the information and the motivation. You may know what's to come, but you have to wait to get to it, and sometimes you get more than you bargained for.

The Viki/Karen scene starts at 3:40 and continues in the second clip

This moment is still un-toppable in my eyes... Brooke learns Laura is dead.

It was well acted, it dealth with a character that the audiance knew since birth (one of the best things about the longevity of soaps and their characters), and it was topical (drunk driving).

Oh Julia Barr, I cannot wait to see you sink into similarly meaty material on AMC 2.0.
