Prospect Park Sues ABC Over ‘One Life To Live’ & ‘All My Children’ Licensing Agreement

With the shows airing, I just thought of something that I don't think anyone brought up. PP is suing ABC for using OLTL characters they weren't authorized too, but if they wanted to get dirty, shouldbnt ABC be able to countersue PP for using Cassandra? She is not an original AMC character. She was created on The City, and this soap ended long before PP came into the picture so it wasn't a part of their deal. ABC never sold The City and technically shouldn't PP's use of the character fall under the same violation they are accusing ABC of?

I thought that was on loving.

Was she named on the City? Would that matter?

Yes she was named.

I thought that was on loving.

you thought wrong. Not that it matters bc Loving still is not AMC or OLTL

PP is digging their own hole if someone from ABC brings up this very valid point. Yikes, looks like AMC could be dragged into this nonsense...lol

AMC will not be dragged into this mess. This is a pissing match between PP and Cartini. Frank and Ron are the reason this mess is happening and they couldn't give half a !@#$%^&*] about AMC.

She was named Cassandra on The City (though I don't believe they even officially adopted the child she found by the end of The City--it was a story near the end), but as mentioned, since she was last on AMC, I think it's fair game.

Haha I think Anna is safe back at GH--but it is true, all of this "who owns which character" thing can get really confusing if you really get into it.

Makes you wonder about "Anna/Alex" on GH

I was just thinking that, would they be able to recast Anna on AMC if they chose too, lol.

Not really. Alex cant be used by ABC and Anna cant be used by PP. I think the origins of those characters is pretty clear

but wasn't it said that GH couldn't use Skye in the future bc she was an AMC original? If Cassandra would be fair game bc she last appeared on AMC, than the same should apply to Skye who has only appeared on GH in the last decade

Its actually 3 years from now but that wouldn't matter. Anna is a GH original character.
