I think the use of took of advantage of, isa pedophile, used him, preyed on him are alluding to it. Then again maybe it just made me think about his rape.

Thanks.

And yeah. Guza already turned that rape into something light and fun with hookers. I can't even imagine what FRON would do with it. Tho this was a perfect time to make light of it in this story so I guess I should be thankful it wasnt brought up at all.

I don't care that it was said to Carly at all. She's my fav, but I'm not blind to her faults at all, hell, her faults are why I like her. I just didn't find that line funny. There are many ways to get at one another, but that was not one of them IMHO. It's simply a matter of taste/opinion and nothing more.

In Cartiniland, rape is only to be guffawed at or be turned on by. So Michael doesn't fit into that. I think we may get a mention, briefly, to remind us that Brenda is a bad person, but otherwise I don't think it will happen (I could see them using this to demonize AJ if they eventually want to Ross/Eli/Ewen him - perhaps he eventually finds out and tells Michael that means he's not a man).

I saw a comment that Sonny talking about wanting to kill Brenda was so refreshingly honest, unlike Guza, and I shook my head, because the scene was played as semi-comedy, and also as perfectly understandable. No one on the show seriously questioned that Sonny nearly had Brenda killed execution style, or whatever, because she had sex with his son. This wasn't a heart of darkness moment. This was seen as no big deal. I think if every episode involved dog [!@#$%^&*] being thrown against the wall (which might be an improvement over some of these stories), some people would say, "Smells better than Guza."

Oh, dear. Can we please not turn this into the Prospect Park vs ABC thread and have the merry go round again?

ChitHappens found the line offensive to her senses.

Others didn't find it offensive to theirs.

Different strokes for different folks. Chastising her is not going to make her like the STD line any more than she did at first.

I'm not offended by any answer - just a little annoyed that I have to explain why I didn't like something.

I simply did not care for AJ's use of an STD to someone that never transmitted one to him or anyone else (to his knowledge). There are certain things I wish writers or FRon's crew should leave alone. That is one of them. I cringed when AJ said that, and normally, I love their scenes.

Carly calling Brenda pedophile reminds me of all the attacks against Patrick for sniffing around Sabrina. RC should just hook up immature twits, Michael and Sabrina already, and spare us making light of the term pedophile already.

I've never been a Brenda fan and hate LW's entitled version of Carly, yet I've been wincing at the writing for them during this story. AJ treats Carly like a $10 prostitute and Jax leaves her feeling unworthy of saving. Sonny sighs as if Brenda's love is a cross he must bear and rolls his eyes at Carly's pathetic self. AJ is cheering his son on for hitting that hot piece of azz Brenda. Both women been degraded here while Michael looks super saintly, AJ smirks in the most disgusting fashion, and Sonny & Jax are treated as honest men so put upon by these two worthless women.

    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
